I've climbed some 5.14+ stuff, but sometimes I get shut out by those 5.10 friction moves... go figure.

you should see on 5.4 -- i'll run it out like a [i:2e07e76367]sonofab*tch[/i:2e07e76367]! i've pushed 5.5 on a good day, but the 5.5x's just creep me out. i climb ice as long as it's not steeper than 15 degrees, and i love big walls -- but only if they're no higher than one rope-length; any higher than that and i develop nervous projectile diarrhea. i lead 5.13 in the gym, though.

I just climb most of the time, never really worried a lot about grades, i mean i know what a 5.9 feels like and a 5.10 and stuff like that, but does it really matter, climbing is fun and even if its really hard ill try it anyways. I always climb hard, but i do have my off days.

How hard I climb is directly proportional to how many days I spend flailing on...er, working, a route. How hard I really climb is what I consider to be my onsight level. I ain't tellin'. It varies. My buddy, the first American to flash 5.13c, considers the route to be 12a, since he'd just on-sighted a 12b prior to the 13c that took more effort. It's all relative. It's all bullshit. Last time I touched rock I did a 5.12c/d, but it had two chipped pockets, so really I did a 5.12c A0, which makes me a solid all-arounder, perhaps America's best. Stop the presses and alert the mags.

In reply to: In reply to: Why not be a postive member of the site? You have so much to share... What with you people and the positive sharing crap. Stop trying to homogenize the site. Let him be the festering rectal pore he is. Let him think he knows something. Let him fantasize that someone gives a feck. Because I've met him in real life (and yes, everyone calls him fish) and he is a sweet kid apparently jumping on the b.com STFU train. Otherwise, you'll see by my history the love I typically have for trolling scum dogs. Now, quit your b*tching, grab my hand and join me in Kumbaya. (*drkodos, fish, and climberchic sway to and fro...) "Kumbaya, m'lord, kumbayaaaaaaaa!!"

HI GANG, JOE HERE. I CLIMB HARD BUT I AM ALSO INTO SERIOUS CLIMBING. THERE IS NOT MUCH SERIOUS CLIMBING ON TEH LITTLE BLOCS OR THE SPEORT ROUTES THAT ALL THE DANDIES MAKE A BIG WHOOP ABOUT. AND THE WOMEN FOLK JUST NEED TO QUIT FUSSING ABOUT AT THE ROCKS AND GET BACK INTO THE KITCHEN WITH THE POTS AND PANS AND LEAVE THE SERIOUS CLIMBING TO THE MEN. NOW I MUST LEAVE YOU TO TRAIN FOR MY SERIOUS ASCENT OF MOONFLOWER BUTTRESS WITH A STANLEY CLAWHAMMER, A COWBOY HAT, SOME SCOTCH AND MY FAVORITE TOBY KEITH T-SHIRT. I AM TOTALLY SERIOUS.

Well, although I almost feel lile the thread is dead (or was dead before it began) let me offer some sort of an answer: How hard I climb? well that's relative, as was everyone else's answer in fact, but their too modest to say so (which is why I have so much respect for most people posting here). Let's put things in perspective: me climbing full time, or in high school, or in college, living with mama (all the same anyway): probably 5.14a and plus on good days. me paying for the house, taking care of pregnant girlfriend, and completing my PHD at the same time: surely below 5.12. It's all about perspective isn't it? I'm sure it's the same for most of you guys? cheers W. (I hate being so serious)

Assuming he is being precise with his language, Fish wants to know how hard the population here climbs, not just individuals within the population. Sounds like a job for a professional statistician to me. Curt
