I'm going to be in Lincoln for a couple days in June. Is there anyplace GOOD to climb? Outdoor would be preferrable, but I'd settle for a gym. Can you give me directions?

Sorry man, you'll have to stick with gym climbing. That's all we have here in Nebraska. The UNL Rec Center has a decent wall, but you'll have to find a member (ie. UNL Student) to "sponsor" you if you want to get in. Pretty lame!! http://www.unl.edu/crec/OA/OAMain.html

Lincoln and Nebraska for that matter is cursed with nothing but dirt. In reply to: The UNL Rec Center has a decent wall, but you'll have to find a member (ie. UNL Student) to "sponsor" you if you want to get in. Pretty lame!! Actually this isn't enforced very much. I climbed there yesterday and am not a student. It's a pretty good indoor wall but their summer hours are rather limited. There's a gymnastics facility here in Lincoln that has a bouldering wall, not terribly exciting but good for a few hours of fun. As for outdoors forget it unless you want to do some buildering (I know of a few places). PM me if you need more info.
