hey guys..im new around here but i just wanted some advice. ok im building a climbing wall in a 'playroom' type thing (its about 9 ft high by 10 ft long but i could probably extend it up and slant it on part of the celing..i think this is a good size space right? :? ) But, im really new at building my own walls...so umm any advice? does anyone know of somewhere to get cheap (but good!) holds? or what size wood to get? (and you can use plywood right?) and also, if your building it directly on a wall you dont need supports or anything right? any and all suggestions (and pictures!)also welcomed! sorry but i`ve never done this before lol..thanks!!!!

look up and to the right of the screen..... type your subject line in the Quick Search field... click search. That should answer almost all of, if not more than all of, your questions. also type cheap holds there. You'll get even more stuff. This topic has been discussed so many times that you could spend more time reading about how to build you own wall than actually building it.

No matter what you use, you will need some space between your wall and whatever is behind it so that bolts can extend through the T Nuts. I highly recommend www.atomikclimbingholds.com for good holds cheap. Good service and good product. There is a book out for like $12 on how to build a climbing wall. Do a search on Amazon or pick it up locally. That's what I did. I just keep adding on little by little now, and use it 2-3 times/week. Really helped my climbing, and it's fun. Good luck.

ya i just finished mine 2 weeks ago it has an electric winch so you can varry the steepness. there are some helpfull plans on www.stonageclimbing.com i changed the plans so it is atached to the wall and has a winch so use your imagination but be safe and carefull! i will post some pictures of it soon!

the winch thing, wow, your a genious. that is soo cool. if i wasnt living wiht my parents still, (im a freshman at high school) I would build one of them. AWESOME
