What place is better for a good, all-around adventure: Mt. Assiniboine or The Bugaboos?

I'm asking those who have experienced both places. What area would be more fun for technical alpine mountaineering and a bit of rock climbing? We want an area that might yeild some good, technical alpine assents while also having some classic rock climbs ranging from easy to about 5.9 or low 5.10 at altitiude.

Anybody have some experienc that they'd like to share?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Tyler

I have climbed in the bugs and although I haven't actually climbed on assiniboine, i have climbed in the area and have hiked out there. If you are going primarily for the climbing there is no question go to the bugs: they're amazingly beautiful, lots of routes of every grade and they are solid. The only downside is that it is a bit of a crapshoot with the weather. The only reason to go to assiniboine imho is because of the scenery or because maybe you are a lost soul who actually likes climbing on shitty rock.

Mt. Assiniboine or The Bugaboos? No brainer dude. The Bugaboos!! Why, well Mt Assiniboine is a pile of choss, in a mountain range full of choss piles. Climbing it involves more walking then anything else. Plus it takes you at least two days to walk to the base. At the Bugaboos, you can hike up from the parking lot, dump your gear at the ACC hut and still have time to go run up a classic climb on Crescent Tower before it gets dark.
