Well, I tried searching, but nothing really came up, so I'll just ask: Anyone have any suggestions for good chalk bags? I have a really shitty one right now. Something medium sized would be good, I have pretty big hands. How about fish's bags, any good?

Prana seems pretty good for mine, more for the shape (oval) than the size (just a bit over average). Easy in-n-out. Marc B.

Small bags rule! Roca's small bag is just large enough for a small chalkball. Helps you get just your fingertips chalked, not your entire hand. Makes it easier to clean what you leave when barely leave anything behind. coylec

Sewing is so frikkin' easy, y'all! If you've never put your own article together, a chalk-bag's a good place to start. Borrow one you like, use it as a pattern & voila! I'm fixin' to do the same, myself. Plastic betwixt the layers, to keep the chalk in, & presto! Surely you got some old trousers about with good fab. left on 'em? I have some canvas trousers with holes in the seat and knees; think I'll cut 'em off, fix the seat and use the rest of the legs for a chalk-bag. How's that? good luck

I'll be at a comp tomorow where competitors need to dress in 70's shwag, so Ill pick up something there to make the chalk bag when I get some 70's clothes. Any one know really what goes inside it? what is this fish fuzzy ligament I here so much about. any good materials to make the insides with? felt maybe? corduroy? Thanks again

I like my Prana bag. Don't know that I have a preference as this is the only one I have ever used. It works well though. If you have really big hands, you want to strap on a Metolius chalk bucket. Can't go wrong there. You can keep a six pack in it with your chalk, and still fit your hands.

You could read the chalk bag FAQ on our site..... yes there really is one. Or (hint) click on our Ebay link found on the Mystery Bin page.... In the next day or so there will be about a dozen bags offered with pics! Good luck and don't fear the fuzzy ligament. Russ www.FishProducts.com

Heck, yes!! Krieg has some killer stuff, and the cool thing is that even if you drop it off a cliff, he'll replace it for you. Tons of sizes, tons of styles, and custom options - I'm a bit biased though, being a Miguel's regular and having gone to school with Sam. Still, worth looking at and it's good to support a small company. www.kriegclimbing.com

Best chalkbags are the ones that fit your hands comfortably, have a good closure system, and are of the design and style of your liking.

If you're looking for a chalkbag for big mitts, check out the Prana Jumbo chalkbag.

I am a Misty Moutian bag and love it. Big enough for my hands, but not too big that it gets akward on my harness. Besides it looks good. So even if I am having a bad day. My bag still lets me look good on the rock. In the end that is what really matters, right?

Well, that worked out well. I went to the comp with my shitty singing rock chalkbag, and ended up winning one of those nice pranna bags. I'm happy. I may still make my own though.

Im a big fan of looks, but thats really a personal preference thing. In terms of functionality, I like a bag that is bigger than those tiny sport climbing bags, as I want to be able to stick a full size chalk ball in there without my hand getting stuck. I started on a franklin bag, but I have since switched to a metolius bag, and so far I like it. Enough room for a full size bison ball (I used to only be able to use the mini's with my franklin bag), along with some loose chalk, and the fleece inside feels nice on your hands

Anyone criticising this thread has obviously never used a singing rock chalk bag. That thing sucks hard, plus I have big hands, which makes it about twice as bad. All I wanted was a bag I coud get my hand into, and chalked without struggling. The prana bag is working out great, it was free (minus $5.00 entry fee), its big, and thi inside is sweet. Oh, and I already cut the threads on the prana logo patch and took that off. I kind of feel like a hypocrite, bucause caring about not having an image is almost as bad as caring about having an image. oh well.
