Wild honey bees are currently active building a large nest in the right-hand side of Kamikaze Cave in a hueco ten feet up. They are not on any established route but close enough to warrant caution. Not a good idea to agitate them to see if they are the Africanized variety!

I suppose that I would be chastized as insensitive to environmental concerns if I proposed that it might be a good idea to just eradicate them, assuming that is possible.

A climber died after he was attacked by bees on a route in Phoenix a couple months ago. He attempted to downclimb and was swarmed, lost his hold and fell to his death. Assume all bees are africanized, do not swat a single bee, if you do, run at least 1/4 mile away. M
