I'm driving from SLC to Southern Illinois this coming weekend, and I'm going to try to make as many leg-stretching bouldering stops as I can. While Utah, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois have pretty obvious choices, what is the best area in Colorado?
I've looked at online guides and books, but there's just soo much climbing. Anybody have a suggestion for +-V5 climbs?

i know theres something near glenwood, but check out climbingboulder.com for that. there's also some odds and ends up in guenella pass near gergetown, and of course, the probably toasty morrison and matthew winters just off 70 near denver.

Check out the bouldering outside of Red Cliff (near Vail off I-70). Nice boulders scattered about an aspen forest. Also, since it's high elevation the weather shouldn't be too hot. Here's the rockclimbing.com link:

Red Cliff is definitely the best bet for an I-70 stop. About 10 minutes from the highway, and I think it's one of the best bouldering areas in the state -- very scenic, good stone. Not tons of problems, but what's there is top-notch.
If possible, get yourself a copy of Philip Benningfield's Colorado Bouldering (Part 1). This will be your best resource, by far, for finding the good problems.
Plenty of good V4/5s too -- don't miss the one that Melissa Griffith is pictured doing in the Benningfield guide.
