Little kids laughing (#1) The look on my wife's face when I point out a cute puppy or dog A compliment, or "thank you" Getting an unplanned check in the mail Watching someone learn a move, tick a climb, or do their first lead Getting a "thanx to rrrADAM" in a CD liner from a few SoCal bands The list goes on... Like John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you when you are making other plans."

The smell of the ocean in the breeze when you're 8 miles away. Fog in the morning. Lying in the grass. When someone sees you and lights up.

ANYONE smiling (and I mean the real ey-squinting smiling, not jsut raising the ends of your mouth). My husband laughing. He doesn't find most things amusing enough to laugh, so when he does, it just makes me glow inside.

When my cat sneaks onto my lap and I dont notice she is there until later. Stopping while driving/riding through death valley around sunset and listening to nothing. How the week before and after a doing a wall I can eat tiny candy bars like popcorn and not feel bad. The look on my mother's face when I refer to her cat (named Mr. Kitty) as Mr. Sh*tty instead. Waking up on my ledge in the middle of the night and looking up at the stars, then watching them fade while a full moon rises. How I think I have all of these huge dreams that will never come true, but then they do. -Kate.

Hearing the song "Lenny". Watching snow lightly fall by a street light. Playing pond hockey at 2 in the morning under a full moon. The sound of waves crashing against the shore. Playing a round of golf with my Dad.

A week ago I posted here that there was a mouse in my house, and was inquiring about humane ways to trap/release..... Last night, I woke up to a sound which was clearly that of a mouse scurrying around inside something. I went to go check and there (s)he was - not in the set trap, but (s)he had gotten into a plastic bag that was hanging on a doorknob. It was a transluscent bag, so I could see the little one (not so little, actually), and all I had to do was put a little crimp in the top, walk over to the window and release the mouse onto the fire escape, where she or he quietly crawled out and away into the moonlight. I think the mouse was happy about it; so was I.
