Arrived yesterday and I am still adjusting to the time zones and tryting to find my way around. I have been tiold I can get a ferry from Victoria to Horse-shoe Bay and thats not far from Squamish, what baout to the camp ground? Or should I go into vancouver and go to Squamish Via VAncouver? Also Ineed to get gear are there affordable shops in Squaish or should I hit the MEC in vancouver first?

There is NO ferry that goes from Victoria to Horsehoe Bay... you can go from Victoria to Vancouver then Vancouver to Squamish (all via bus if need be). OR you can drive to Nanaimo from Victoria and take the ferry there to Horseshoe Bay and drive to Squamish there. If you go from Horseshoe bay to Vancouver first, you'll be backtracking. Victoria -> Vancouver by bus ... get off at the Pacific Central bus / train station. From there, follow the directions here
