http://rockclimbing.com/...Area.php?AreaID=3996 The climb may have been the first pitch of Wanderslab @ 5.7 on the guide but im not sure. One of the moves felt 5.9ish and I only found 4 bolts before the chains but the guidebook says 6 bolts. Maybe psychobob will find this thread. Lamoille, Nevada is at the base of the canyon in North Eastern Nevada near Elko.

Lamoille Canyon is an awesome place. Just south of Elko in the middle of nowhere. Lots of new routes to be done in the Ruby Mountains...

atg200, Have you been to pequops yet? Seems like itd be closer to you. I wish I had had the time to travel over and at least look at it, the pics for pequops make it look huge.

i haven't climbed at the pequops but i've stopped and looked at the cliffs. beautiful rock, lots of hard looking climbs. i do a lot of work in elko(i'm in elko right now) and am always amazed by all the rock around here. partners sure are scarce though - i rope soloed one of the easy bolted slab routes(maybe wonderslab?) last year but otherwise have just brushwhacked around looking at the cliffs. do you know if anyone has ever climbed that conglomerate tower on the north side of I80 just east of the tunnel between elko and carlin? i would love to check that thing out some day.

I saw them on our way home this past weekend but have never heard of anyone climbing them. My guess would be that someone has but didnt care to publish it anywhere. [edit] The rocks you are describing are a within walking distance of I-80 right?
