I don't mean to "knock" a sponsor here -- but does anyone see an important training technique with this item.... :?: :?: :?: http://www.spiderclimbing.com/ Perhaps I'm missing something -- please enlighten me...

In reply to: I don't mean to "knock" a sponsor here Then don't. You aren't the target audience. Just because a tampon ad comes on while I'm watching TV doesn't mean they expect me, personally, to go buy one. Rob

Rob If you didn't know what a tampon was -- you would probably ask someone who knew...if you cared to know. I asked a question of those that know... If your not the target auduence then WHY are you bothering to REPLY..   Do you have something better to do with your time today -- Hey TARPITT people....OVER HERE..!!!!

Oh c'mon Rob, we all know that you live for donning a pair of Underoos and Spiderclimbing, but making spiderwebs with tampon strings is a bit over the top...

and the target audience would be???? lets work this out...... tampons = target women Condom = target men Alcohol = target alcoholics / adults candy = target kids magnetic climbing aperatus = taget A) those with magnetic apendages B) daycares that would like to keep the kids out of the way C) climbing gyms that are too cheap to buy holds. D) climbers that fall alot   just kidding It is an interesting theroy, I think with some modifications it could be a great training tool. My hat is off to whomever invented/marketed it it has potential. p.s. this device could be discrimitory to magnetically disadvantaged people.

In reply to: I asked a question of those that know... Sure you did. You're playing the climbing elitist while bashing somebody who contributes financially to the site. Your implication was clear. I probably am part of the target audience. Climbers probably aren't going to see much use for this, but climbers with kids...hmm.... Rob

Rob then who is the target audience? the audience is fairly limited on a rock climbing site...as opposed to the millions of people who will see a televised tampon ad

Your implication was clear. Get a life -- You have no idea what your talking about. Open the OTHER side of your mind. Maybe you should read the post a few hundred more times ( seems you have time) --

Sorry, but I'm not going to argue with everyone with a keyboard and a desire to take shots at the people who pay to advertise here. I understand why they'd advertise here. Sorry if you guys can't. Rob

Alway best to quit while one is behind. I have read DrPhil's advice on posting here and gave SERIOUS consideration to what if I left out the part, "I don't mean to "knock" a sponsor here -- I believe then my post would THEN have had the potential to sound like I am "knocking someone". That's WHY I put it in. If anyone else has some constructive and positive answers to my post's question lemme know, I'm going climbing. Have a nice weekend...  8^)

Ohh!!! pick me pick me!!! I know the answer, "Ok Timmy go ahead" oh boy, thanks Miss Watson, "Sure Timmy" , Now we won't have to think when we climb, " Thats right Timmy bravo, now you and all your undereducated brainwashed friends don't have to think anymore, just like T.V. and Xbox Timmy, now you too can have the conveinience thats taking America by storm, no more walking to the T.V. to turn it on just click and its on , or put your velcro gloves so you won't have to think about the sequence of the moves." Goly gee Miss Watson that's terrific, I can't wait to tell all my friends. Ain't America Grand...

If I had kids, they'd have one in their playroom with bean bag chairs at the bottom. I have a large home wall, which is great for my friends, but young children could never play on it unsupervised. The pricing is a bit high, but I would DEFINATELY buy a small wall for my kids if I had any. Lots of people on this site have kids. Sounds like a good place to advetise a low-difficulty magnetic wall system.

Or, when somebody is about to be a jerk, they say: " I hope this doesn't make me sound like a jerk, but...." Or, when someone has a very definite message they intend to convey, but don't want to be held accountable for it, they might say "Don't take this the wrong way, but...." ......Just a thought.....I don't mean to be cynical, but....

Isn't this like [violet]the pot calling the kettle black[/violet]. Forums should be about answering questions ...and contributing to the discussions resulting. NOT a platform for analysis "of the question". Maybe you could apply for a moderation job on a website somewhere if you feel the need to police others.... BTW - my climbing weekend was wonderful -- and thanks to those who applied to my post intellegently. Cheers ~ :)
