The short story is;

Illness coupled with my age has forced my retirement from climbing, I need to pay my rent and catch up on some bills, and some of my toys gotta go.

Don't they cost around $60 brand new?

P.S. your package price should include some type of incentive to buy them all.

Farva,

You are correct, they retail for around $60... $62.50 for the #1 and #2, and $68.50 for the #3.
You are also right, that $13.50 isn't much financial incentive, but I had been offered that much before. So that's where I set my price.

But the best incentive I can offer is good karma.

You'd be helping a fellow climber, and a nice guy (if I say so myself) not to end up being a homeless cancer patient... and getting perfectly good gear, I otherwise never ever would have parted with.

I am not asking for a handout, just a hand, up on my feet again.

Don't most stores including Black Diamond http://www.bdel.com/...php?gear=rock&id=242 have them 20% off due to the new ones coming out? Which would make it cheaper to buy news ones over yours.

It's easy math.

They were already a total of $193.50 (at REI where I purchased them).
$150 was already nearly 25% off the retail price I paid. 62.50 minus 20% IS 50.00, and 68.50 minus 20% is 54.80.
That makes a total of $154.80... the retail price minus 20% already, and I took $4.80 off that.

I'll go 10% more, $135.00 for all three.

If you buy these you will kick yourself once you see and try the new BD cams. They are liter, ten times smoother, and the stem is flexible so it won't break as easy when you fall on it. I know all of this because I just went climbing this weekend at Ship rock with the BD rep. The new ones are a lot better.

STFU! What purpose does it serve you to discourage others from buying this gear? The seller has made it clear why he's selling it and why he needs the money.

We've made it through the last 100 years without the new Camalots so you won't hold it against the rest of us if we don't all rush out and buy the new ones today, right?

"Liter?"
Learn to spell. Have you checked the specs? Maybe 1 or 2 or the cams or 20% lighter. The rest are 10% - 15%, not terribly significant.

"ten times smoother,"
Exactly how did you arrive at that quantity?

"...it won't break as easy when you fall on it."
ROTFL. Are you kidding me? Did the old camalots tend to break when you fall on them?

Buzzard, if you don't want to buy them, then "buzz" off. Don't try to sour everyone else... I'll bet you're like one of those pesky desert birds that waits for things to die then scavenges for meat. You're probablly just trying to get this guy to drive his prices down so you can get a better deal. If you don't buy used gear, then why even check out the deals? Go play with your new C4's or something.

Folks,

I have definitely learned one thing in my latest ordeal... it just doesn't matter.
Life will go on for those who have it, love will go on for those who don't.

We travel though this world like a leaf on a stream, don't forget to savor the view as it travels by, value the time you can relax in an eddy, and hold on tight in the rapids.

What Buzzard thinks is not going to have any effect on me, his negativity is his own curse... I would not want to live a day in his shoes, and will not lower myself to his level of pettiness.
I do not have time for it.

His mother loves him, despite the fact he cannot seem to use the manners she taught him, as well she should. He's lucky.
Let's just let him slide huh?

Anyways I have recieved a more than generous offer, and the cams are sold pending funds.

I appreciate all the prayers, well wishes, and the words of encouragement, it really does make a difference. If just in my spirits.

just because you wont, doesnt mean that other people might not want to buy them

the NEW cams are NOT the same price. they are a lot more
the OLD cams are a bit more than what is offered.
wouldnt you rather support someone who is going through a hard time?
