Thanks for the link, that site is super-slick. Have you decided how long you will spend on the wall? Is this going to be you first solo wall?

In reply to: oh yeah, forgot, I found this link on supertopo: "Safanda.com — An amazing flash trip report/show on climbing Spaceshot in Zion National Park. You must check this out." Ed Ugh... Is that link still up? Talk about taking way too long on Spaceshot! That was my very first big wall style climb. I do have very fond memories of the route for that reason though. I need to go back and do it in better style someday.

dsafanda, anytime your down to get back on it I'm in, I'm looking to free the upper pitches to cut down on time. As for truth in advertising, just take out the pics of you on the portaledge and re-write the trip report to say you did it in 4 hrs car-to -car.

LOL. I was just looking on your website for that link yesterday, Dave. I couldn't find it -- good to know it's still around. It's a very nice production, even if it was during the gumby days. Ed

Let's not get carried away Ed. I'm not suggesting that I'm anything other than green and bendy...just that I know I could get up Spaceshot in better style these days. grayhghost, those upper pitches do look like they would make for sweet 5.10 free climbing. Somehow 5.10 always looks harder after you've spent a few pitches in aiders. Something that you wouldn't hestitate to climb if it were a single pitch at ground level all of a sudden looks like 5.13. I'm not sure how to break through that mental barrier.

Free climbing is more fun anyway!! Just place a good piece, clear your mind and...GO!! josh

This is my 1st solo wall. He11, this is my first aid wall. I plan to spend 2 days on the wall. I like the idea of fixing the 1st 4 pitches, so I hope to only haul emergency bivy gear. How much rope will I need (to fix 1-4?) re: <Have you decided how long you will spend on the wall? Is this going to be you first solo wall?>>
