this looks like video before Alex climbed the Kommunist 14a without a rope. Cool your foot man is 13c at Schleierwaterfall. Amazing stuff, you better not fall on these climbs, you'll land in a pile of big rocks.

he is talking about how he prepared himself by soloing 12's and 13's in order to solo the Hasse Brandler in the Dolomites a 1500 foot 5.11+ with lots of loose rock. Plus I could swear I heard him say that the beer in Germany tasts better.

What a sweet video. Hubers are freaking crazy!! I like watching them climb because they're not just skinny little guys, they're built like a brick wall. Nice to seem some of the bigger guys represented. In reply to: I also like how bdawgs homestar icon dances in time with the music in the video. I thought the same thing... LOL

He wore Mythos. I used to wear Mythos when I started climbing. I wore those shoes out and got a different type. I climb better now. I bet he could do the same. Just like Jordan says, "It's got to be the shoes." I would like to see some 5.16d free solo first ascents. What do you guys think?

Same as I've seen 5.14 climbed in kaukulators, moccasyms, and the latest and greatest of foot wear - its the climber, not the shoe. You get a shoe that fits you and works with your feet, you find a rubber that matches your style - that's the way to go, technique and experience far override shoe technology. People see Will Gadd climbing sick mixed routes, with, well, modified Cobras, and not the newest in mixed tools, does that mean that with a set of Fusions he'd suddenly start setting m17? Probably not.

Sorry, I should have been clearer in the first post, but everything I said above was sarcastic.

hands sweating. Have to climb now. Raining so plastic again. Darn what a gym rat I am! Huber is incredible, the pace of his climbing, the perfection of each move. What a show. Incredible really.

Conversation between the guys before first climb: Other guy: "aww man...I cant pull this rope down, one of us is gonna have to go up there and ge it" Alex: "You get it, I always get it" Other guy: "Shotty not" Alex: "Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine." Geesh, what a moron he must have felt like to climb alllllllll that way just to realize it wasnt even stuck!! But seriously. God damn.

In the first clip he said it doesn't matter if it's an 8 or a 10. The meaning of the grade doesn't really mean anything when he is free soloing and sometimes 8 is hard and 10 is easy. In the next clip he says that he understands that what he is doing is dangerous, but he doesn't climb unless he is absolutely sure he won't fall. In the next one he says you are climbing with the rope there can be some "ugly climbing" because you have to go a certain way. In the other clip he is talking about the mountain and no one has done it without a rope and he wanted to do it when he was younger. When he did it it was an amazing feeling. So basically he's just the man. He can say whatever he wants and it will be cool.
