Hello.
I'm new to climbing (a little over 2 months now) and I usually climb at the UCD gym, but I have been to Cosumnes a couple times and Rocklin Bouldering. But, I really want to get outside. I have the basic gear (harness, shoes, chalk back, belay device, and a biner for belaying). But, I want to get into trad climbing and not indoor climbing.
I was wondering if there are any Trad climbers in the Sacramento area who would be willing to take a new guy under their wing and teach him some stuff. Before I commit myself to buying lots of gear (I'm kind of poor) I'd like to do some climbing with an experienced climber first. That way they can show me what to buy, learn about gear placement, and just general advice.
Any help would be great.
