I'm going down to Vegas tomorrow and hope to take my dog. What areas are dog friendly? Thanks for all the Comments I was able to find a dog sitter, so it looks like every one is going to be happy. Gunner gets to stay home and play in the fresh snow. yeah!! :!:

Officially: none. They must be on leash at all times and not allowed off trail. That said, reality is completely different. Most people that bring their dogs do not honor the regulations at all, and the sport areas are often the scene of many genitals being sniffed.

ugh, if you're going to take your dog, keep him on leash and secured to something while you're climbing. dont climb a multipitch and leave him at the base (you'd be suprised how often this happens). thats rude to both the dog and other parties. keep him off other peoples gear and away from the routes in general. but, i'd ask that you dont bring your dog, because frankly, they are a nuisance at the crag, unless they're well-behaved enough to do nothing but sit quietly 20' back from the crag and not move the entire time they are there.

The canyons are home to some of the few remaining big horn bands. These spectacular animals are more disturbed by the presence of one dog, (a natural enemy) than dozens of climbers. Have some respect for the local residents as well as other climbers and , leave the dogs at home! .

Dogs don't belong in the canyons for the above mentioned reasons. Besides, those ram are better climbers than you (most likely) and could climb up your 5.6 and take you down...and your little dog, too! ;) I have seen dogs in the sport areas, but thats it. Enjoy your trip, either way. -Kate.
