i know the feeling of climbing withdrawl. i had just goten back on the rock after a bad case of tendinitus in my elbow, when i took a lead fall befoure i had clipped any gear and fell about 12 feet, but luckily a rock was there to catch my fall. once i recovered from the mildly sprained ankle that inflicted it was winter in beautifull upstate N.Y. . no the gym is no replaicement for rock. my solution is to ice climb. :P

I like to do some underground exploration during these cold and cloudy days of winter. A constant temp and no daylight allows time to slip by in a wink.

i am using the winter to recover from too much climbing during the fall/early winter season. i was getting tendenitits and achey joints. find a winter sport, i am learning to snowboard this winter and its been a blast so far. cyclocrossing would be another fun suggestion.

One possible solution...move to Vegas....winter climbing here is great, it's during the summer that we need to search out other places as ya can cook on the rocks after 10 AM or so......although I've found that being 20 minutes from kickass sandstone has made me a little spoiled (i.e., "what do you mean climb on granite- that stuff hurts"...etc, etc...)
Blue skies and take a vacation bro.....Vegas loves visitors....haha...
