Hello all Just wanted to let people know about some new functionality on GetBeta.com. The Video Gallery - You have been able to post video to the guide for awhile but now you can add it to a gallery as well.I have tested the functionality with some test video clips but need to get some real users to give it a go as well to make sure its dialed in. So if you have ANYTHING climbing related in in video format post up please. Blogs, Not just for the political type. Blogs are a great way to document a road trip or just thoughts in general. Its a free way to keep others abreast of your whereabouts and thoughtitudes. Check it at http://GetBeta.com Matt

i don't know why this site was met with so much hostility... I know that when i am traveling to a new area i can use all the beta i can get and there is no way one site can really cover it all... read cool web SITES and then go climb...thanks to RC.com and gotbeta for your efforts

I have FINNAAALLYY been able to get the time to implement a map service into the site. I inititially thought I was going to use Microsoft's Terra Server and think I mentioned it in a posting way back. However, I was turned on to a way cooler option and went with it. Google Maps are now available in location listings if the location's coordinates have been entered into the database. I have gone in and added some coordinates to some existing locations so you can see the potential of the maps and will soon have the coordinate inputs available on the forms for locations areas, sections, and routes. This will allow you the user to enter these values at the time the climbing entry is added. Check out these locations to see the working maps. If you don't see a map on a listing page check back often as I will be updating these locations over the next few days. Just finished some pretty cool functionality to help climbers find partners. We thought it would be especially useful when you are looking at a climbing location in the guide to have a list of all the folks wanting a partner for that location to be embedded right in the listing. So that's what we did. Of Course since this is a brand new feature we would like to get some folks to post up if they are looking for a partner and let us know what you think. The options are available off of the home page and under the members menu. Check it out Matt
