*sigh* Back to the point: Micah's pics are great, but the standard is that medium shots need a climber (slackliner, incredibly unbelievable scenery, etc...) in them, or if they're to be considered educational, route lines. You know this, Micah. These standards are upheld for everyone else on the site, and yet they have been repeatedly broken dozens of times, just for you by folks like me and Doug, among others, solely because of your requests and explanations. I can see now that you appreciate this effort. Glad you found another way to get the pics the exposure they deserve at sizes that meet your standards. Keep up the good work.

God, what a bunch of whining. The past few days have been rife with loaded Pampers and hissy fits around here. Winter must be getting to people. I have contributed an embarrassing amount of posts, plus photos, routes DB additions, personal PM beta for visitors to my fine snowless peakless chosspit of a town, modding, and much witty pontification from ahigh, so I hope I am qualified to bitch in here with the rest of you kindergartners  Oh, and score: Clausti 3, Micahm -5 In closing, four words: STFU!!!

This is one of the funniest threads ive read recently. Some of you are getting all worked up over nothing. If you dont like the guy's website dont go to it. If you dont like RC.com, dont come here. If you dont like the original poster, dont post in his thread. If you dont like pictures of mountains, dont look at them. If you do like pictures of mountains, view this guy's website, or one of his 11 pages on this site. I think that about sums up all the options you have....haha

The standards are not mine to set, and they have been bent many times by, let us say, more sypathetic mods such as yourself and doug. Thanks And climbsomething, I'm so glad that your opinion is so transcendent. Keep on telling us how it is. A typical woman supporting her fellow woman. Good for you.

In reply to: And climbsomething, I'm so glad that your opinion is so transcendent. Keep on telling us how it is. A typical woman supporting her fellow woman. Good for you. Look, micah, you're fighting a very losing battle here. As climbsomething pointed out, not only has clausti shown her clear intellectual superiority here, but you have made a complete ass of yourself. You have done this without anyone else's help. But, it is completely ignorant of you to call climbsomething a "typical woman supporting her fellow woman." I would be willing to bet that she would have said the same thing if a man had been assaulted in a similar manner by you. And, in case you hadn't noticed, clausti has had some well articulated and very useful posts on here. In addition, more than one person agrees with her on this topic: coylec, climbsomething, and myself, and I'm sure others who have yet to post. In conclusion, I agree with climbsomething's astute closing remarks: Just STFU and cut your losses. Go hump a block of ice or something. EDIT: typo.

OK, that does it. I've pulled almost all my pics. You guys' loss. I don't see why every opinionated jerk had to try and get their two cents in here. I just wanted to tell people about my website. Now, I don't give two sheits anymore, and all of you can go to hell. I'm sorry I couldn't have been more eloquent in defense of myself, but hey, I don't see that it makes any real difference. I'm still justified in giving some sort of defense or rebuttal when people randomly and without cause decide to throw insults at me. Anyhow, nuff said, I'm not looking to throw a pity-party. You want to see pictures of Alaskan climbs, visit my site. Other than that, rc.com's database has just gotten much smaller. Congratulations dickheads. btw-the woman crack was misplaced, and I withdraw it.

Yes, this thread has really degenerated into a total flame fest. I commented on this thread way back when it got started and tried to stay out, but couldn't. I believe Micahs pictures are fantastic. I believe there is room on this site for all types of photos. Its unfortunate that the result of this thread is Micah pulling the photos. Now nobody on this site can enjoy them. What might we learn from this thread? 1) A more positive approach to life usually result in more pro-active actions by all. If the last paragraph in the original post had been deleted, I think this thread would have accomplished exactly what Micah wanted... Getting people to view his website. 2) A more positive approach to life... People have jumped all over Micah for his attitude. He is entitled to his opinion, without everyone taking it as a personal attack. His issues were directed at the site coordinators, and a coordinator did respond. I dont understand why others responded negatively? The original issue was not addressed to you. Do you enjoy heating things and making a flamefest? You can get your opinion heard without being condescending or negative.. Anyway, just my thoughts. The end result. We all lost. Micah feels moving on is the appropriate measure. The users on this lost the chance to view some good pictures (albeit low resolution). Not trying to play the marter, but after watching the latest fiasco unfold here it is obvious that a little restraint can go a long way. If you want your opinions or issues to truely be heard, desparaging remarks is universally understood to be the wrong way to accomplish you goals. Micah, I truely hope you reconsider taking your pictures off this site. There are folks on this site that do enjoy your work.

Seem like the law of the net is that fighting leads to more fighting and soon it doesn't even matter what the issue was to begin with. That's an unfortunate dynamic, particularly when it's mirrored by governments and crowds. So my support goes to those who either stay closer to the issues than the flaming, or to those brave enough to take a deep breath and see both sides. or just fight for the sake of blowing off steam that has little to do with the folks you are fighting with. Have at it! It shows everyone what kind of person and climbing partner you are and thus you're more likely to hook up with kindred spirits Peace karl

In reply to: It's interesting to note that the troll who came back like three months later to bump this thing with further insult's post has been deleted. Why is that so interesting to note? The post contained excessive profanity, was an unprovoked attack on another user, and was thus grossly in violation of the Terms of Service. -Jay (Senior Moderator)
