Well, since you put it that way...

I hope so, but plans are kind of up in the air for that weekend. I'm WAY over due to make it up to RR to do some climbing. I'm only 5 hours away, and in the five years I've been climbing I haven't made it up there once. Way over due, I tell ya.

Hoping to be there. I can't pass up an chance to meet YOU -- and to hang out with Flamer, Beth, Kelly, Hillary, Kristen, err... and everyone else!

I've never been to RR and would love to go and do some multi pitch trad. I could take or leave the conference stuff and just climb hard.

I've been working out hard in the gym and I'm leading 5.9 on the super overhung wall - working on 5.10b's on TR.

So if anyone is interested in a trad partner near or at this weekend, my schedule can be flexible. I'm hoping to be able to lead up to 5.8 or 9 and follow to 5.10a or so if you are interested in a partner at this level, please drop me a line.

I'd be glad to bring my aid gear as well.

Chad

i'm sure that your version of 'hard climbing' is much more difficult than mine, but i'd love to meet you f2f and maybe rope up for a route or three.

I'm a new leader and I've only been to RR once before. My buddy and I are planning a self-guided tour of any easy to moderate trad routes we can find. I'm thinking about Cat in the Hat and a couple of others.

If anyone is without a partner and wants to join us then that's cool. If you're a stronger leader than me then that's even better. I'd love to have someone to swing leads with.

Only 24 more days! I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.

My climbing partner Bob and I will be on Levitation 29 Sunday so I'll be getting up WAY early Sunday to get up there with that long approach. Won't be up drinking beer as late into Saturday as I usually would.

On Saturday we should be in Icebox Canyon working some sweet 10c-11b's if you wanna head back in and look for us that day. Mostly one pitch stuff so you can take a ride on our lines if you want. I look pretty much like my profile pic, easy to find.

Oh josh/flamer - if drkodos is offering up Triassic Sands, jump on that one with him. What a sweet line, 3 pitches...P1 and P3 pretty challenging, P2 is a cakewalk. Great route.

It is not as bad as all that. Park in the Oak Creek lot. There is a shortcut up the slabs, if one knows it, it saves about 45 minutes. Otherwise, it is about 105 minutes from car to base of the route.

Depending on how much time you want to spend in the canyon, many people rap the route instead of topping out. Saves about three hours.

If you head into Icebox Canyon this weekend or the next few, you will find out whence it was named....

good luck!

Well it sounds like a good time and I am definately planning on attending. One problem is the lack of liscence, but if someone from socal is going, I could meet them at the intersection of the 10 and 215.

As far as climbing plans go, I would love to get on some longer lines (epi and other stuff) and do some classic 10b's and 10c's and get sandbagged onto some nice ow's. Linking some routes would be fun too. Like Cat in the Hat to Solar Slab, or maybe Olive Oil to Geronimo, or maybe Black Dagger to something else, or maybe epi to frogland. I don't know the place that well, but will be in shape and ready to suffer. The late exit number is on my speed dial.

As far as standing in slings goes, I am always down for some speed aids climbing. Rainbow wall ctc would be great.

The show from Peter Croft would be cool too. I have been reading his book, The Good, The Great, and The Awesome about the long routes in the sierras. I just added about 60 pages to my tick list this summer. I love those long routes that's for sure.

Ohh yeah, and if anyone wants to go bouldering...don't ask me. I can't climb that hard.

TRADitionally yours,

Cali Dirtbag
