Hey Pat: I might be going up to Ilchester this week after work. Can you sneak out a little early. If we can set up anchor by 4:30 we can climb for 2 hours until dark. Can't make Wed. There's another guy named Matt that's also interested. Let me know if you want to go. Another option is Saturday but bigger rock. Rock State needs some exploring. Here's my email chalfredm@netscape.net I got a new rope, biners and stuff for my b-day. Later Baltimore Charlie

lostangel, annapolis rocks is about an hour and a half drive, and a 30 minute hike from annapolis md.....its actually closer to frederick md, the name is a little misleading. as far as md crags go, its pretty nice, and you can get all the beta you need here http://www.bcpl.net/~indy/climbing/guide.html

yea I know hun, the only reason I referred to Annapolis MD, was because I used to live there, and it would help reference me to where he is located, I have been to Annapolis Rock only once, but I never got to climb it )= I hav intentions of doing that this summer, I am 3 hrs from Annapolis MD and a hr and 45 from Annapolis rock right now

lostangel, i now live ~20min from annapolis. there are a few crags in the area that we could climb if you are ever around, or we could arrange a meet at annoplis rocks or maybe even harper's ferry. drop me a line. i see that you are in altoona. i'm originally from PA & a pennstate grad. i'd love to make a trip to bellefonte sometime (i always have trouble finding people to make the trip to such a little known crag as bellefonte, but it was my where i got my start:)). hope to hear from ya.

baltimore charlie, i've been thinking of ilchester lately & contemplating inviting you out. (i hope that doesn't sound like i'm making a pass at you!) i usually climb indoors on tuesday & thursday, so wednesday would be best for me. but hey, i'd much rather climb outside if i can. i'm definitely interested. let me know whats best for you. unfortunately, it may be best to bring the guard dogs along. too sad. anyway, i'll be spending the easter weekend in pennsylvania, but definitely want to get out the following weekend. we gotta get ready for the trip to NRP!

AWSOME!!! In the summer I make trips to Annapolis everyother weekend because I work there on boats, So that would be completely cool! Fill me in more about the second week of April I wont know until later this week if I would be able to pull that off I've got my fingers crossed though!!! Oh one more thing, if you ever come up this way, I can hook you up with a place to stay too. [ This Message was edited by: lostangel on 2002-03-25 16:22 ]

don't get too excited lostangel. unfortunately maryland isn't renowned for its rockclimbing i don't want to get you down, but the majority of the local crags are no bigger than donation rocks in pa. but, we make do! let me know when you're in port! lol! as for the trip to nrp, its actually a rockclimbing.com gathering & there is a forum thread under rc.com events & gatherings. there is the washington gathering for nrp & a gathering at the gunks.

hey what can I say, as long as I get someone to climb with I get excited, EXP in MD! you are right about the rocks but some rocks are better than none, its all sand down there and they acually sell rocks 1$ each LOL. even though I lived and know people there, I didn't know ANYONE who climbed, they were all into their dayum sailboats! (they have no clue what they are missing) and I never climb alone, so when I go there.. there was no one to climb with, (befor I joined this site of coars) so this is why I am "overly excited" LOL

I will be happy to show anyone around our local crags, or drive a few hours to climb. Two others from rc.com live here and we're always ready to climb.

Hi, Im a student in VT and I am going to be visiting my sister in Denton, MD. I know it is flat as hell there, but I want to climb something while i'm around, especially if it is warm. If I could only go one place on this visit, and would drive a couple of hours to do so, were would the best place to go be?
