Oh wait, is this the one about some balding climber who spends all his time on RC.noob making fun of people who spend too much time away from the computer to understand web-lingo? Yeah I saw that one, the ending sucked.

petsfed wrote: enigma wrote: I was teasing you !!! But I won't anymore . Sincere apologies. I told you I've had many gay friends . Emphasis mine. This argument is the exact same structure as "...a lot of my friends are black". And its just as hollow. Just because your friends tolerate your douche-baggery doesn't make you not-a-douche-bag. I know this from experience. For what its worth, I think your anecdotal evidence of the basic shittiness of men has more to do with the company you keep (willing or otherwise) than any intrinsic shittiness on our part. Has it occurred to you that successful business men have to be a little unscrupulous and self-centered? It is certainly the case that I find plenty of other women attractive, and they are uniformly not my girlfriend. But anybody who thinks I'll try to sleep with any of those other women under any circumstances doesn't know me or the people I associate with. It sounds like you might want to stay in school and take some reading comprehension classes. I did say Almost. Its unfortunate that your mindset is so poor that you see all successful business men as liars and cheats. Some are just smart. I wouldn't be so quick if I was you to analyze me, since you honestly have no idea what you are saying nor who I am friends with. Once you get out of school , work in the real world that smug attitude of yours will fall to the wayside . I doubt you will ever be successful. Go ahead and try, just for the fun and experience. Hope your parents can help support you into adulthood. Perhaps you can marry a rich gf. Or have you thought of that already??????????

The WB is for With Benefits. The PTFTW, I believe, is for "I am a sheep" but the original acronym was lost in the translation at some point.

Enigma - I have met you (once, for those who wonder) and I say this with kindness: The remarks you say you are making as teasing do NOT come off in that way(the one in your last post here, about never being successful, hope mom supports, gf to support, for example). They don't show you in an attractive light.

When provoked , yes I stand up for myself.

I reread the last post this person made, and see nothing offensive. I assume you mean an earlier post, and I am not interested in researching the point enough to look for it. Enigma - Our behaviors should not be contingent on how others act. That's what the phrases "sink to their level" and "take the higher ground" are about. The words and actions that come from us are ours alone. We are responsible. Employing the "but they" defense is poor style. In some respects, I am a "warrior" and good style is important to me; perhaps it's not for you. I just thought you might not be aware of how your battle strategy was playing out(not just in this instance). I don't think it is a winning strategy, but I guess that is your decision to make.

Enigma I would take what happie is saying to heart. On this site you come off as an unbalanced, racist, bigot. This probably isn't your intent but what you're posting here is having a detrimental effect on how others are perceiving you.

Hope your parents can help support you into adulthood. Perhaps you can marry a rich gf. Or have you thought of that already?????????? Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I mean, I caught this post on my phone just before I left, but I hate using the little keyboard on the droid, so I left it unanswered. Let me assure you that I took your advice to heart though. Every night around the campfire, I WEPT into my beer, absolutely sobbed, at what a waste my life has been and how little I understand about the world at large. So I've resolved, first thing tomorrow morning, to drop out of my Physics graduate program, and to tell my advisor to give the incredibly generous funding package that I've earned to some other, more naive student, since clearly, I'll never come to any success if I keep teaching, doing research, and otherwise not returning to the deeply unsatisfying jobs I've held in the past. Similarly, I'm dumping my girlfriend, since she has no aspirations of anything other than teaching at the college level and performing research, and anyway, she's not upset that I make more than her. Clearly she's bad for me! In all seriousness, you would've been better served attacking where I live if your intent was to show that I'm an inexperienced college kid (as opposed to a grad student who's already been through the economic ringer looking for a job post-college). That would, of course, also be easily rebutted, but at least more people would agree with your premise.
