About Avalanche Lake:
Avalanche Lake is a remote area between Mount Colden and Algonquin Peak. Most of the lake is surrounded by cliffs that rise right out of the water. Probably more than 250ft at the highest. A handful of rock routes have been done here, some are listed in Don Mellor's guidebook, check the new route book at the Mountaineer for other routes. Alot of potential exists on the cliffs surrounding the lake and in the Trap Dike on the eastside of the lake. Ice forms early. |
