Sorry marge, if I lived closer I'd be over with a bottle and a laugh or two. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Last night I completed the job. I now have a fully blown knee (left one). I can't walk without crutches, a pair of which I don't own at the moment. I'm trying to find a good sports medicine doctor today. This will be the second knee I've completely blown. Did the right one back in high school playing football. Oh the glory. This time I was walking my dog in the rain and slipped. I went one way, my leg twisted the other. Oh the shame.

Oh the shame. wjca, you can have the other couch. knee injuries suck. i was so thankful it was a break instead of a knee injury. I was also thankful for no internal, or head injuries. A friend was out skiing with his kids on the weekend, he hit an unexposed tree and went tumbling down the run. He hit several rocks and did some internal damage,ie., ruptured his spleen. He just got out of surgery to fix internal bleeding. It was very serious.

Ma that's a big bummer. It feels pretty bad to have a sudden end to a season. You definitely have my sympathy. It must have been an interesting fall to break the femur before blowing out the knee. Though I'm sure it's more painful, let's hope it means you will have a better long term recovery prospect as you pointed out. As Ski Patrol, do they give you hare traction splints to use for those situations? Or do they do something else before putting you into the sled? I've always wondered. Anyway, good luck.

It had been super hot all summer and the temps were finally getting good for climbing and I spent all of Fall sitting on th couch looking out the window.I feel your pain. At least it is starting to get close to the change over season and it won't be a good time for much of anything for a few weeks anyway.
