Thought it was Greece, and the last time I checked, the Greek food was quite yummy. Mussaka, biftecki... tons of meet anyway... olives, saganaki... *drool*

Haven't climbed much in Saxony but I can recommend Bielatal (spelling??). Lots of easy but beautiful towers with OK protection. Try "Thor's hammer". There you will also find the Teufels Turm. The route facing the path is about 6b (2 pitches) and is well protected on the hard parts. Haven't been in Falkenstein but I know it has some harder well protected routes. Have fun! As a treat, here's a grade 3 jump: http://www.teufelsturm.de/...onr=701&thumb=no

Olov, by all means you totally overestimate my abilities... 6b is about what I toprope in good conditions. Okay, 6b+/6c in really good conditions. Actually I thought about Bielatal, but I think Falkenstein/Schrammsteine will be the area of choice. First of all I've been there and know at least some climbable routes, and second it's more cracks - so protection is a little easier. Still not written in stone... Let's see, it's still a week. (btw, theguy... Ferris, what about you? Thought you might be interested?) - Daniel

Hey Everyone, Sorry to have been out of the loop for so long. No excuses really, just a bit too much work. So the wonderful new is - we were at Map and Martin's wedding last weekend. It was SO beautiful! And their wedding vows almost made even paolo cry! So, Paolo and I are just spending the next 9 days counting down to our US climbing trip! Any route suggestions or anything? We have a thread in Community called "TP'ing the United States" with a list of the areas we plan to visit! SOOOOO excited! Ciao to everybody! Taz

Actually, we already know which climbing areas we want to hit (see the other post). Not hitting the east coast at all, so no gunks. Just looking for outstanding route suggestions. T

Ettringen was definitely a surprise. I was a bit skeptical when I heard that we’d be climbing in a quarry. My previous experiences from that have been quite lousy. However, I found a crack climbing paradise. I climbed perfect finger and hand cracks the whole day. And there is plenty of stuff left to do. I’m starting to like Germany . I hope I can go back to Ettringen soon. Just have to find an apartment first So thanks, Marc and Sebastian, for showing me this. I owe you a guiding in Bohuslän – Sweden’s best granite cracks.
