MUGS.... just to give credit where credit is do. I discovered MUGS.... that is all. The wings are cheap but small, 40 ought to do the trick. Tonight, mountain biking... tomorrow wings. Mugs actually is not too far from MM (and Kensington). Just across the 14th St. bridge.

Right by the drug store? That's the place where someone got stabbed a few months ago! Ahh, Calgary how we love thee. |

Next block south of the drug store, by 7-11. I use to live a block away from there.... scary (but not surprising).

Funny, I keep hearing stuff like that, but I still find Calgary feels far safer than my hometown (Winnipeg), and that's after living on 3rd ave for a couple of months... certain areas in the NE excluded

Apparently JP claims to be a mastermind who "discovered" Mugs. Personally I would imagine the owner had a grand opening and promoted the pub rather than just waiting for JP to "discover" it. And just in case someone gets stabbed, you might want to aviod making such dubious claims to fame

Man, wish I could come out, I would even be willing to cross the river to the south side :shudder: but no way I will get home in time. Have fun guys!! Oh, and fraggle, you misconstrued my statement. Calgary is much safer than Winnipeg and Saskatoon (both of which I used to live in), that has nothing to do with the fact that someone was stabbed at that pub by the drugstore. In fact, my shock was a reflection of how outrageous that seemed to me at the time. Now things are getting a little different though. I long for the Calgary of five years ago. :sigh:

OK, so... I'll be a little late tonight, but am still planning on showing up! Have to get the busted ass Jeep Heep home (it broak down on Laurie - See Coffee shop for full unedited details) and still manage to drop the Sister inlaw off at the airport before beers.
