You are correct. But it was still quite a shock to see ANY buildings on the top of what everyone had been spraying about as one of the toughest winter destinations around here. FWIW I really enjoy the area in the winter, but the only time I have been back to the top of that one is on a traverse of the presidentials.

And, the weather certainly is serious, I was getting blown 4 or 5 feet while wearing a heavy 6 day pack at the summit one time. And I am not light, although I probably have a good amount of surface area.

It seems like most of the people getting trouble are getting lost, that is ridiculous in an area that size and with such easy landmarks. Getting washed off of a slab and (glad this didn't happen to you) hurting something is a world away from not being able to walk down the correct side of a hill.

So, essentially, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Why? I need to go to the summit of that peak more than twice in the winter? Because of my original hyperbole? Or because I conceded to the common idea that the weather is serious? At any rate is an enjoyable easy-access winter area.

No, I was laughing at how you said you didn't like the place but you still like it.

You're from Mass, though, so I expect your train of thought to take a little longer in leaving the station.

I see, I never said that I didn't like it. Just that it was a joke the way many people regard it. It is a nice enough area in general and the whole region has impressed me more than I thought it would. I guess having low standards and sucking at climbing helps with that though.

I liked Troy (and own it). Though it is true that the title could be changed to "Brad Pitt Shitz Pantz in RoidRage."

You know what a REALLY bad movie is? We just netflixed "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" last night. I remember thinking it was just awesome when it first came out and I was in middle school, but it was just pure campy cheese.

Alan Rickman as the sheriff is AWESOME, though.

Dude, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves WAS awesome.

(please note: I have not seen the movie since I was probably 13 or 14....but I believe my memory is serving me well)

I actually saw Troy in the theater, when matinee prices were reasonable and I still went to see movies in theaters. I'm sure it was following the original tale of Troy fairly well, but for me I was all like "why the fuck don't they just kill the bastard, they have bows and arrows and he's just standing there!" and "shot in the heel (technically the achilles tendon), like THAT's believable".

I'm a cynic, what can I say.....and yet I'm totally psyched on renting the second Transformers movie. Go figure.
