I failed to find the site with those cheap Canadian holds, I looked on ebay and there werent all that many holds this time, I'll keep after it.

As for Tim, you listen to Dann, he'll have you climbing 11's in no time, ok maybe not but when you see Louis next time, ask him if we used to push him a bit, now he does a good share of pushing himself and he climbs better than me most of the time. Remember, no pain, no gain

Hello all, I just returned from Holiday in England. (there i go talking like some damm brit) I visited a couple of gyms in London, the best being Castle Arms, Most lines are 50' and the longest girdle type traverses about 120'. The gyms were filled with scruffy drity sickly strong brits. Can they pull!!! Loud metal music and beer. No punk music tho...it starts fights. Climbers in london, and britian in general are still the poor bastard stepchilderen to real mountianers. So this meant no Yuppies or Gym rats, just scruffy climbers waiting for the rocks to dry enough for them to make a trip outside.

Grats rockhugger on your wall, let me know when i can come climb it, and maybe it will inspire me to work on my own project, that is nothing but a 50 hold pack sitting in my spare garage.

Welcome back Josh, thats sounds cool, I'd like to see that someday.

On a diferent note, I got my Mugen's today, they are on my feet right now, the right one is too tight to walk in right now (it was too tight to keep on my foot for more than a min the 1st time) but the left is perfect, its hard for me to convince myself that they are the right size when I cant walk in them but it was the same way with the X-rays, my feet are forming to them nicely as I sit here, I've had the right one on for at least 15 min now. Anyway, I cant wait till monday to try them out, I'll have to bring sandals like Dann , now I can show you all what the top of the shoe should look like when they fit right (tight)

Wish me luck at the boat show Fri & Sat and I'll see ya'll Monday.

Les

First of all Tim, hope I wasn't too harsh on ya but the old axiom that Les mentioned, "No Pain, No Gain" really holds true for most things. I'll PM you a bit later some more info on a few things in this line of thought...

JOSH!!!
Thought we'd lost ya... I tryed PM'n ya a couple times when we were going down to Red Wing but figured it might be too cold for you... England huh? I think that Castle Arms gym is the one our old friend Arthur/pumpkin_man used to go to when he lived there. Is it in an old Castle by any chance??? I think the pump gave me a link to their web site once to see what it looked like and it looked really cool. Glad you had fun...

Patrick, as for your road trip to the Duluth VE, I'd love to go but want to bring my kids up there and the weekend you are going is my weekend without the kids, so, I'll have to pass this time and go later... (unless you maybe want to change your weekend)

Les I'm SO happy to hear you got your Mad Rocks! I was starting to feel bad that I've had mine for 2 or 3 weeks now and you didn't... Man, I hope your feet can do some major molding into those things. (for those who don't know, Les' Mugens are the same size as mine {10.5} and I was complaining about them; his street shoes are at least a size larger than mine) Anyway, get used to them and we'll give them a good workout Monday (assuming my arm is feeling better, Jeff)

Oh and, I was watching the "tube" this afternoon and saw a commercial for the BOAT SHOW! Thought about you and Deb walking around there, looking for your next "Fun Machine"... Please tell me you're not going to wear the Mugens over there to break them in...

AND... They're sending your New 5.10's back??? Already? Are they sending an actual pair of X-rays? New version they're comming out with? And YELLOW? I don't know, you won't want to confuse your other Yellow (comfort) with the New Yellow (confidence)... Well, glad you're finally getting them back!

Huh... I thought I was catching up to you in the shoe department with my 2 new pairs of Mad Rocks... Guess not...

Catch yall later...
Dann

Well after all the macho (real men wear their shoes tight) talk, I've decided to send my shoes back and get an 11, the left shoe fit how I wanted it to nice and tight but the right shoe was insanely tight, and after wearing the shoe for a combined time of maybe 2 hours I dont think it was going to get any better, so I'll have to wait a few more weeks. Its alright Dann I'll get over my case of shoe envy.

Well Dann you weren't too harsh, and I was asking for it. And your 17 yr old might not burn the house down but mine would.. or she'd sneak the boys in, which is fine with me cuz my flower beds haven't been growning very well (hehehehe)in need of good fertilizer. Les I'm hsppy thst you got your long awaited shoes. That's too bad you have to send them back. Well guys it looks like I'll see you monday at VE, and I'll try and not puss out early. Cuz getting better would be a totally cool thing, and no one can make me get better but myself, and some help from you old guys who know what you're talking about.. see you guys later..

Tim

p.s. Dann I'd love to hear what you have to say on the subject.

Hey Josh, get those damn things fixed or I'll be forced to squeeze you into Les' tiny little pair... And if you're going to Jeff's, bring LOTS of jugs! Unless you like crimper hell. Oh, and wear some long-johns 'cus its sposed to be cold this weekend... AAHHHHhhhhhh haha ...and don't forget the kerosine for the torpedo heater!

Jeff, he said CONCRETE... he apparently doesn't climb on silicone (why, I'm not sure; maybe he likes saggy ones jk Josh... )

Tim, I'm getting there; I ran out of time last night cus we were busy...

Les, good luck up in MinniApple at the BoatShow...

See yall Monday

The heater didn't run out of gas, it just needed another sparkplug. The thing was burning real dirty the other day and before I passed out from CO poisoning I shut it down to work on it ,much better now the thing will drive you out now it's so hot.

I cant beleive it, my X-rays came today, the new ones are baby sh@# yellow and they are twice as ugly as the origonals but the funny thing is that they fit, the last pair I had to soak in water to brake-in.

I'm in shoe heaven

DUDE! yer gonna be Giddy all the way 'til April/ice-out, ain't ya???

NICE!

Hey, I thought you were an anti-I/O man??? Well, that'll make a nice wake to get yer butt outta the water on that knee board, or, wakeboard, or, whatever it is yer ridin' at the moment...

Did you get the "Standard Power" or the "Max HP"??? I guess you'll need some big ole' pourable gas cans now with that "23 Gallon Built-in Fuel Tank" Wholly fuel storage Batman! At least you won't have to stop and get gas every time you wanna use it eh...

I suppose you'll have to get a covered lift for it now, it'll be so pretty and clean...

WOW! Nice boat Les, but I just gotta say, my favorite feature has got to be the "10 Beverage Holders"! Thats more than one beverage per person (assuming you only have the capacity in the boat)...

Anyway, back to climbing... I'll be at VE 'bout 4pm Monday afternoon...

Kurt and Jeff and I will be doing a winter hiking trip next weekend to the north shore. A hike from Silver Bay to Tettegouche is in order followed by some climbing at VE in Duluth on Sunday.

If anybody wants to meet us at VE you are welcome to help us try it out. I have never been to VE Duluth before, but Jeff has. Jeff wants to do some ice climbing on the Baptism River, but I think I will be all colded out after a night in sub zero temperatures. Sorry Jeff (rockhugger), but I have to wuss out on you.

You and Kurt can go and do the ice thing without me if you want. Or maybe somebody else here is interested and could meet us at Tettegouche Sunday morning with their axes and crampons ready to go.
