Anyone off Monday or Tuesday? I am looking to hit Devil's Head on those days. I am open to other suggestions. Would prefer to clip bolts on this trip, but you can definitely mix some good trad at DH.

Yeah, that was me Mother_Sheep. We were the ONLY 2 poeple on Wall of the 90's. I noticed the 30 or so cars at Highwire.

Yeah, it was more obnoxious than normal. We shoulda gone to highlander. It was vacant. I only got 3.5 runs in. :-( (The .5 was a result of me bailing off this 10r route that I just couldn't commit to as it was getting too dark and I was all sceared.) DAMN IT!

10r? What route was that? One of the ones near People's Choice?

I actually "led" my first 11b yesterday. A certain flail-fest. Felt much easier, just weirder.

yeah, it's to the left of PC. I've lead it before with no problem. The moves feel more like 5.9 or so but still, my head wasn't in the right place to commit. A fall before the 5th bolt (I believe) would have been really bad. So I spent a long time going up and down and up and down, trying different sequences. Then finally I just gave up. It was getting too dark and trying to downclimb on lead in the dark was a pain in the butt. I was nice and bloody by the end of the evening. Nice job on the 11!!!!

Yeah, I haven't done that one yet.

The 11 was just ugly and I wont claim it until I send it in good form.
Thanks anyway.

Though some of the other CO folks might be interested in checking this out. You don't need to be a member of the AMC or CMC to attend:

Monday, 16 August 7pm @ The American Mountaineering Center
A Warrior's Way: Digging Deep into Mental Training
Presented by Arno Ilgner

The Technical Section of the Colorado Mountain Club is sponsoring a
fundraiser featuring Arno Ilgner presenting "A Warrior's Way: Digging Deep into Mental Training".

The Warrior's Way is a comprehensive program teaching how to focus your mental resources during a challenging climb. It includes step-by-step guidance on motivation analysis, information gathering, risk assessment, mental focus, and deliberate transition into action. These principles for overcoming self-limiting mental habits are applicable to many other pursuits as well as climbing.

A Q&A session during which you may ask questions about your particular challenges will follow, and Ilgner will sign his new book, The Rock Warrior's Way.

A donation of $5 may be made at the door.

Hey Jeremy,

Glad you guys had an OK time on the Grande. Two words of advice about sleeping in crowded campsites: ear plugs. Get the soft foam kinds and you'll never have this problem again accept when you are trying to sleep through level 11 tejano in the Potrero. Come to Eldo with us on Sunday, dooood. We'll be going to West Ridge.

Looks like the Exorcist vs. Predator hit the back seat of my truck. My little one got sick on our camping trip so we're home. Dad gets the boys this afternoon so I'm going to want to get out. Sport, trad, aid, easy, hard, whatever. Yes, I'm about to leave my number on the net: 720-373-0365. Leave a message and I'll call you back on my LAN line. I should be able to head out by 4:00. Anyone? Anyone? Bueler?

talk of hitting, well... er a climbing the bolderado this afternoon, meeting at REI at noon. May morph into Clear creek depending on the crowds... also rumors of some folks from the thread hitting highlander early.

Amber, Steve, Kyle, and anyone else,
Kim and I will probably hit CCC either Tue or Thurs this week after work. Anyone who wants to come is welcome. I am down for just about anything. I just have a strong loathing for Highwire due to the crowds.
Drop a reply and let me know what's up.

I think I might be able to go. Actually at this point, I'm 85% sure. I'll let you know tomorrow. I hit the Sport Park for the 2d time ever this on Sunday while you guys were playing. I was expecting someone to charge me an entry fee in the parking lot. It's like a gym. No other place on the planet can I lead an 11c! hehe I didn't lead it clean but hell, that is my TR limit and I lead it. hehehe.

Still enjoying the stiffling heat(108F) in Phoenix! UGH! But hey, they say it is a dry heat. I say - SO IS YOUR OVEN AND I WOULDN'T WANT TO LIVE IN THERE EITHER!

Can't make the crag on Thursday but am looking for climbing partners this weekend - Trad anyone? I hear that Eiger has a juggy(said for ZoZo) 8 or 9. Any beta on that ?

http://www.climbingboulder.com/rock/db/clear_creek_canyon/little_eiger/first_impressions.html

Link should help... its a juggy face to a fun undercling to a dihedral/crack. Crux is near the anchors and requires a rock over or high step to mellow slopers.
