Yep, Kyle. You found me.

Did you end up climbing this weekend? Any sightings of strangers engaging in full contact gladiator climbing?

No sweat, Kyle. Once you are moved into the new house you can have some of your weekends back. Enjoy the new home. Tracey started moving into her condo last weekend as well. Our move was pretty quick. It just sucked up one weekend.

Off to shop for some new slings today. I seem to keep leaving them around the countryside. Dropped a purple one on Lone Eagle.

hey all

I'm on my down from Canmore in the canadian rockies in Oct...I'll probably will need to hook up with somepeople since my host will most likely have to work for a few days while I'm there.

I'm going to be there from the 7th to the 18th, with the first weekend being spent in the desert on some sandstone...

If anyone feels like taking someone out who is a competent leader (I have my own rack up to 3.5", ropes you name it) then please feel free to pm me. Lead 10+ish on gear... RP 11+/12- sport, lemme know eh?

Is Catslab closed or what? Does anyone have any concrete info? I've heard both ways.

Where are you cats climbing tonight?

I was at Catslab two weeks ago and it seemed fine. I didn't see any sign of a closure, and the guy I was with seemed to think that the Access Fund had persuaded the landowner to keep it open. There weren't many people there, but there was no one around hassling us either.

Would have gladly gone with you Bob - didn't see the note until 8/23 at 2230. Sorry.

I'm off Thursday PM/Fri/Sat/Mon/Tue - if you want to get out on one of those days - I'm game.

Hope you're well.

Hey Gang.

I have a few days off this next week. I'm off Thursday afternoon/Friday/Monday and Tuesday. If you would like to get out and play around on the rock - let me know. I'm also open for a day hike if you want to go.

I'm open for just about anything(except Golden Cliffs) - leading/cleaning/top rope - sport/trad/plastic - matters not. I wouldn't mind going with a rope gun to Clear Creek or to Hawk Ridge to push my ratings. :) I can belay with the best of them. I had a great time out last weekend. I am really enjoying my Mythos! You'd be proud of me ZoZo - I gave up the juggy stuff for the past three climbs! :) These routes weren't dead vertical but they were thin. (Nexascent can verify)

Anywhoo - I'm game if anyone wants to couCLIMBgh, CouCLIMBgh. Sick? I'll write your boss a note....LOL

Gotta bail - have fun!

I need visual proof! Ive been trying to come up with a semi tastefull double entedre (sp) using "Juggy" for the last 10 minuets. Doesnt look like it's going to happen for me this morning.

On another note, going to Shelf tommorow if anyone wants to go. Want to be at cactus around 9:00. Testing for my yellow belt tonight, wish me luck!

Ah, grasshopper. Practice your forms and yell with your heart and you shall ascend the ranks to the yellow belt. I myself will practice the art of the other belt:

Not sure about the rainbow suspenders, however. I think it means something in certain circles. Might have to stop wearing the bandana out of the left pocket as well.

I actually got my yellow belt in college for Tae Kwon Do. It's interesting doing your forms in front of several hundred people. I got turned off by all of the heavy handed mysticism intertwined with martial arts, though. Krav Maga looks more appealing now.

Im actually doing Krav Maga side by side with the Kempo. I guess Im lucky so far it's pretty down to earth. Very little on the traditional stuff and no mystical crap at all.

Got my first taste of ground fighting on saturday and was basically used as a floor mop by the higher belts! It was fun though.

Anyone climbing tomorrow after work? I may need a partner. I should finish moving but I CAN'T!!!! MUST CLIMB!!!! I get off work at 4:00. I'd want to clip bolts in Clear Creek or Golden so I can get home around 9:00 to take another load over. I got 5 runs in at Table last night and made it home by 9:00. I think climbing in Eldo may set me back until 10:00 so sport only. Better than nothing!!! Send PM or E-mail. But more importantly. . .rescue me from this heinous move. MOVING BLOWS!!!!

I'm picking up what your putting down. Uh huh - now you guys are feeling the no climbing pain that I endured for a couple of months! I only hope that you get back faster than I did because if you slack - it will be winter. Thus you'll be on plastic or utilizing tools. Which by the way sounds like great fun this winter.

Other news - it appears that we'll be enduring a base downsizing here in Denver. I'll probably have to pick a new base from which to fly. However - I will not be moving. OH NO! I am here to stay. However my choices would include: Phoenix, Philly, Nashville and Washington Dulles(Herndon, VA). Hmmm? Decisions decisions. No word on when this might occur - simply rumor at the moment but the signs are certainly there.

Crazy - if I didn't say it - THANKS! for pushing me on that 7 arete' in Eldo. It has really paid great dividends in my foot work.

See ya!

Anyone,
I'm new to area and looking for partners. I've only been out once since I got here (thanks oldmanowack) but thats no way close to being enough. I would like to climb at clear creek during the week after 4pm and eldo/boulder on weeekends. I'm an experienced climber who is very safe and fun to climb with. I lead about 5.10-11 on sport 8-9 on trad. I will climb with anyone no matter what rating as long as you are a good sport and safe.

Sung,

Welcome, once the move is done I'll drop you a line. Keep posting, most folks in this thread are cool with meeting/climbing with new folks. Bustin's a good guy, good belay. Make him climb harder than he wants to...

Well it is official - I'm getting bumped out of Denver. Found out this evening via company email. I'm going to bid the Phoenix domicile. Close commute - lots of flights. It will just suck having to fly an additional sixteen hours per month just to go to and from work. ARGH!!! I will remain in Denver. (No Kyle - I won't sell you my trad rack.)

Upside - Closer to Red Rocks and Joshua Tree for winter trad! :)

See ya,

JD
