Curt, Please don't waste any more of your considerable talents on this dickweed (that'll probably get edited out). You should know better than to argue with 13 year olds......you can confront them with scad piles of data and they'll still insist that a paper bag makes a good condom.

[quote="rockscaler2"]I dont climb to show off or jus tsay I'm a climber and im not a gym climber...the gym is for training. And I didnt compare gym ratings to crag ratings. Your ratigns ARE WRONG OUT HERE....a rating for safety purposes so for someone to say a 5.9 in Az or UT is a 5.9 and then go try to climb a 5.9 in NY Conn. it would not be pretty and I would expect someone to be in trouble so I would consider you guys the morons.Learn to set your routes correctly the nwe can talk. And im in your backyard climbing and its not impressive. But you can sit here and mock me all you want with your petty little name calling but I know what I can climb and what I have climbed and I know climbers who have climbed for years...that doesnt make you a good climber or who you climb with doesnt make you a good climber. Again a rating is for safety purposes so you say whatever you wanna say....poser,moron<~~good one gym climber which is hilarious. See ya!!! Sounds like a pissing contest here. Since I've read most of these post and they do seem like your getting sh!t for asking this question. My new moderater buddy is watching me pretty close these days but I must speak and I will try to be polite. It's really simple. I'll break it down for ya! 1. You moved out here, so you could move back. 2. You seem a little too into the whole grade thing. 3. Quit whining or just head back to the big walls of New Jersey. 4. # 1 and # 3 are the same. 5. Glance at my profile. Would you consider me a poser or moron since I have climbed over blank # of routes, yet none are listed? 5b. As per Curt, from his profile etc. You do look like a moron for making that post about his experience rockscaler. 6. If your working on 5.7-9's it's not like your (me) or anything. 7. So quit complaining. Once you've stopped complaining and get on some routes 5.10 or above on a regular basis, then come back and we'll talk. Good morning Mr./Mrs./Ms. moderator. Hope this post serves all well. Not any worse than the other 10 or so. Peace. Oud.

In reply to: In reply to: why can't we all just get along? Um, because some people aren't worth getting along with :P Yeah, the dude was from New Jersey. I mean, who give a flying fuck what the ratings in New Jersey are? I didn't know New Jersey even had climbers ferchristsakes! I bet they all have rude accents and blame everyone around them for all their troubles. New Jesey ratings. Sheesh. Don't get me started. DMT

In reply to: In reply to: Try climbing Yosemite buddy, I don't think you'll find any weak grades Agreed. 5.8 climbing on, say, Braile Book feels a wee bit harder than 5.8s elsewhere. That would be because Braille Book ain't 5.8 anymore, if it ever was. But whatever, it's a great climb. DMT

Try Joshua Tree. The ratings there are MUCH more stiff than here in the East, with the exception of The Gunks.

In reply to: In reply to: PLEASE, leave the gym and come to Joshua Tree. On second thought... stay where you are ... Please The ratings at Josh are some of the softest in the entire United States. The rock is chossy and dangerous and there are absolutely no quality climbs. Please don't bother coming out to J-Tree it's a total waste of your time.

C.Mac on Supertopo calls it 'tough 5.8' and its still listed as 5.8 in Don Reid's guide. You're right though, I can't remember this climb ever being 5.8. I would just like to hear the New Jersey climber's opinion of soft ratings after thrasing around looking for pro in that third pitch... Agreed with DMT though, truly great climb.

As for the people who actually answered my question...thank you and for the childish ones get a life dude...and curt profile....lol yeah I can say I climbed with lots of people and been climbing for tons of years so thats makes me some kind of climbing god LMAO....again I say childish remarks....Stonemonkey your right Josh is a joke and I would never go back there.......Yosemite I'm very interested in seeing. I would love to see one of you so called 5.10 climbers go climb a 5.10 back east.....I would pay to see it actually that would be quite a site. My assumption wasnt made byt just Az it was made by other climbers and people I know who have been to various states out here. West climb are soft thats all I wanted to state so be careful choosing a climb if you head out east...you can take that in a childish way like some of you have been or in a respectable way like any decent climber would do cause I know I would. Thanks for all your input again. Joey

Thanks for all your input again. Joey I think you're missing the point. What most of the people on this board are trying to point out to you is that you are making an 'assumption' and that you can't make a statement like that without some serious back up, which you haven't provided. Nor have you demonstrated that you should be relied upon as an authority. If you're going to make such statements, expect the response you get, and either admit you're making "an assumption" or provide some proof.

Though I don't like to agree with Joey, since he seems a bit of a jack*ss and I don't like his style...AND I don't like replying to these ratings threads, but I keep thinking about this one... I have climbed several long summers in the gunks consistantly lead 1/2 grade lower there than I do in Josh or Yosemite (see the comment in my profile), and a full grade lower than Red Rocks. And I learned to lead there, so it isn't that it is "unfamiliar". Granted, I ain't an old salt like some of you, and the Gunks is my only east coast climbing experience. I will say that when I have been in Arizona at a variety of places, such as mcdowell mountain, jacks canyon, queen creek, and a few other misc. places on road trips, I consistantly, consistantly, felt like a frigging hero. The only exception I have found is pine creek canyon, which I find I lead the same as Josh and Yosemite. And the gym in phoenix? About as soft as the gym in Red Rocks, which is super-soft in anything below 11, IMO, not unlike the sport climbing of the area. Sorry to have participated, but I just can't help myself. Because I get to travel alot and have no real "home" rock, I think my opinion might be somewhat valid. -Kate.

What is up with "My climbing area is stouter that your climbinng area" BS. I accuse everyone who posted to this affect of being a ratings weenie. Hopefully this was just a trap to lure you all out. If this was a legit post then the original poster wins the ratings weeine of the week award.

Kate thank you and ctzclimb......read what you wrote again and then read mine...I did state that it was an assumption but people on here are little kiddies and cant realize that...im just waiting for the momma jokes. Some people just should not be breeding......Im done watching this thread, soem of the replies are pathetic, childish and hilarious. I asked a simple question and got idiotic replies and hidden in there are a few actual civil and smart replies. Thanks again!!! Joey
