ahhh hell yeah it was, i'll admit it. i think i was just pissed cuz my shift was during one of the events i wanted to do. might have been the dyno comp, i dont remember. but don't worry man, i'll definitely be there and i'll still be in the volunteer army. hell maybe we'll actually get to climb together instead of just saying hello during a shift change. lol

Yeah I kinda thought it might be a little bit early in the game yet. Gotta say that Timmy O'Neil rocked that part of the rendezvous last year. My favorite part of the whole weekend.

I might be there. I'm acting as media coordinator/liaison/contact/whatever and Wendy is coordinating volunteers again. If anybody wants to pitch in email her at rendezvousvolunteer@yahoo.com. Dave, very glad to hear you and Steph are coming this year! Folks I want to give everybody a heads up. It looks as though there will be a larger police presence at this year's Rendezvous. Some things to keep in mind to stay out of trouble: 1. If you're drinking, please please please do not drive. 2. Carpool! Use designated drivers! 3. Or just bring what you need for the night and stay at the Rendezvous! 4. All dogs have to be leashed. 5. Parking is always scarce at the NRR, so again, carpool, arrive early, plan on staying the night or at least staying until you're done for the evening. Once you leave each night, it will be very difficult to find another parking space. 6. We ran out of beer at around 11PM last year. Hopefully, that won't happen again, but if you want to be prepared, be aware that glass containers are not allowed on Park property. PBR cans? No problemo. 7. Lastly, remember that what you do reflects on all of us. Let's not give them a reason to think even more police are necessary!

Oh, also... there was some indication that this year's NRR might not be free due to Park regulations regarding fundraising on NPS property. That DID NOT materialize and as of right now, the NRR is still 100% free to all participants. (We do, however, encourage donations at every opportunity. All funds support NRAC activities on behalf of New River Gorge/Meadow River/Summersville Climbers. You could be buying the bolt that saves your ass.)

Looking forward to the event! My girlfriend and I are driving up from Charlotte on Friday night. Does anyone know when the slideshows will start? I will not get there until 9 or 10PM and am curious as to how much of it I will miss...

I think you'll probably get there right in the middle of them, maybe a bit toward the end. 9 would be better than 10, for sure.

Good to see some fellow Pennsyltucky folks coming this year. By the way I'm still down for the idea of writing usernames on foreheads this year so we know everyone. lol. Didnt work well last year cuz everyone used clear sharpie markers apparently...

Haha I might actually see you before that. I've been talking to Jae about the trip to Shaffer Rocks @ Hermitage Cabin and am planning on going. He mentioned you'll be there too.
