If you like it good for you! My friends all have tats and I am talking top of the head solid down to the fingers. I did not get any as it was not my thing, but I like yours. Enjoy it Sean

That's going to be sweet - post up when the shading's done. I have never seen one like it.

Thats a big owl! Unique though (at least i have never seen another owl tatt), and the main reason I don't have a tatt yet is that i haven't come up withanything i really like, and don't really want to get anyhting that i know someone else already has.... Last week someone in my RFS brigade hit an owl on the way home from training... broke a headlight. Didn't do good things to the owl either :(

I definitely like the tat. It is nice work and it says alot more than some of my friends who have gotten really generic shit tattooed on. I have wanted one for a while now, but I have yet to come across something that I connect with enough to get it permanently inscribed on my flesh. I like seeing other people who do though!

If I get a tattoo, and it looks radical up until I’m 70…that’s 36 years that I really get to enjoy my ink. That’s longer than I’ve been alive. I’m cool with that. On a side note; if you get bummed by being ridiculed for your tattoo, you might want to rethink why you got one in the first place. Cheers, HLB

So far looks pretty cool. The shading's gonna make or break it for sure. Curious as to why it's off center.

I bet this thread got more hits after it changed to "post deleted..." than before. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see the shading.

the placement is pretty cool in that the curve of the wings will accentuate regular curves of the body. shading will make or break it too. make sure you get enough contrast in the head/neck or it will look like mush i just got my backpiece started too. just the outline at this point. for me the slight bit that went on my ribs really wasn't that bad , but it wasn't 'right' onthe ribs. the bit that crossed my spine was the worst, and going round my shoulder blade

I totally agree with HLB- if it bothers you that people gave you a hard time about your tattoo- you probably need to rethink why you got it in the first place. After I got my first tattoo (9 tattoos ago, and a half sleeve coming on Wednesday) my dad was so angry that he didn't talk to me for almost a week. But it's something I believe in, and something I love and want to express- 5 years later even- so that was his problem, not mine. He won't like my half sleeve, or the fact that I got another tattoo, and when I post the pictures on here I'm sure I'll get some detractors, but it's something I want and love and believe in, so I won't be bothered. If you love it, more power to ya! The work looks well done so far. Take good care of it and put sunblock on it- fresh tattoos fade fast if you don't protect them all the time from the sun.
