Hmmmm...I might be in for this. It seems a crime to be so close and not go!! Better go dig up the costs & commit myself for at least 2 nights.

stoehnercd ,

It's usually okay to pitch a tent at the ice rink about 2 miles north of town.

There is a condo available for $160/night, it is a 2 bdrm, call the Box Canyon Lodge for info.

I might regret posting this: we've been thinking about snagging that condo, but our friends are staying at the Best Western and we didn't want to be too far away from them. I'd still consider splitting the condo, with another couple/party...

Box Canyon Lodge and Best Western are.... oh, perhaps 100 yards apart.

I fear, I cannot cover that distance, drunkenly crawling....

The condo isn't at the Box Canyon, though; it's at the N end of town, by the public hot pool

Don't they have a shuttle specifically for that sort of thing?!

Don't bother relying on the shuttle. You can walk just about everywhere, except to the Orvis Hot Springs and an actual supermarket that has stuff you can cook.

Wear your red dress. Wink

1. I promise to keep your tushie very warm. That's the kind of generous, helpful person I am.

2. Special occasion? What are we, chopped liver?

So this will be my first big trip. A buddy and i will be ending the trip at the ice fest, after some mountianeering, and some days boarding in keystone. Reading through this forum has gotten me excited, with all of this talk of alcohol. So look out for two texas boys with new gear.

Oh and reno to ease your mind. I learned ice climbing on a trip to alaska with a guide. Also had hours of talks and beers with a guy thats been doing for 20 years. It's gear i didn't have to buy in alaska.

Or i might just be lying, haven't made up my mind yet.

Yeah, watched the game here at crew quarters. They better learn to handle pressure defense by Saturday, or we're in for a long day.

Sounds like a great deal. All i want is to play on your ice, climb your mountains and snowboard down them.

Well, of course some of the local state beer.
I love texas, we have all most everything here, i just like to leave her every once and awhile. Hell i'm even trying to buy a snowboard thats made in your state, if i ever hear back from them. If not it's my money is going to burton.

so it's safe to assume you fine folks had a bad run-in with texans?

Sorry if i make everyone sad if i don't show up in a cowboy hat. chaps, spurs. However i won't rule that out if i get to drinking and theres a dare or peer pressure with those items around. to do something stupid or funny for everyone else.

I have no shame or limits, its sad really
but what do ya do
