I was out a little over a month ago with some big ole' bad ass friends of mine. I was helping them rig for a Patagonia video shoot....anyway, I got my first EVER case of the screaming barfies. I thought I was going to DIE. It's pretty funny after the fact, but at the time, and being an EMT I'm thinking "HOLY SHIT!" "I've got all the symptoms of a heart attack!". It was damn embaressing to be climbing with some total bad asses and FREAK OUT. They totally blew it off and were like "Dude we know EXACTLY what's going on". They were all blown away that it was the first time I'd ever had it happen. I had know idea.....fucking sucked! josh

Any big groups sharing rooms? I neglected to remember the Ice Fest was coming up so quickly, and didn't plan for a place to stay! I'm sure everything must be booked up by now. I don't take up a lot of room - I'm short and can even curl up into a ball that would only take up 3 feet of space. I can even fit under the bed! I've got wads of magic paper money that only seems to be for exchanging some brew. I'd be willing to share. Any takers?

There's cold, and there's COLD. And then there's "Holy Titty Fucking Christ, this damn climb is REALLY F____king COLD!" When Redpointron, Sharpie, and I did Treasure Falls, it was just beyond that last one. And, lest you forget, good sir: I am from Phoenix now. I've gotten soft, and my blood is much thinner. Heck, it got up to 60 today, and I was wearing a sweatshirt, long pants, and a touqe while climbing. In the gym.

On a thread drift...I'm working today....and just helped with my first child birth. BLAH!!!! kid was only in the cooker for 24 weeks. Fortunately he was out when we showed up. Had to breathe for him, but he was actually looking pretty good when we got him to the hospital. The medic asked the mom "how long was the labor?" Mom said " i sneezed and it came out"....HaHa!! Big laughs back at the barn on that one. Ok back to Ice and Booze. josh

Good job, Josh! I'll bring cigars to the ice festival, just for you! (After delivering almost a dozen kids in my career, I dare say that it is the most disgusting thing I've ever had to do. Kinda reminds me of the scene in Alien, where the slime-covered thing comes out of your body, all noisy and stuff. Blech!) 24 weeks.... damn. Youngest I've ever had was 31 weeks. Pretty damn small critters, ain't they?

Responded to being touched and stuff so he'll probably make it. I'm just happy I didn't have to watch it come out...I'm not real excited about observing the dual function of that part of a womans body...might ruin it for me. I doubt it though.... josh

I've stirred coffee with straws bigger than that.

Well, keep in mind that most folks you'll encounter in EMS for pregnancy issues don't exactly keep things.... tidy down there. Overgrown and smelly are the norms, not the exception. But yeah, it does kinda ruin things. For a few days, anyway.

I remember running a couple of calls with you...but I couldn't remeber what they were....was one of them a full blown dog mauling? josh

Thats what so great about Ouray. climb for a couple hours, then hit the hot tub. Oh btw, anyone have plans to do stuff outside the park?

My FIRST call when I got back to CO last year was finding this unresponsive, diabetic, 300# guy in his single wide laying in bed covered in shit. no one wanted to clean him up, but we didn't want all that crap inthe rig so we ended upgrabbing towels and wiping him down. yum

In reply to: I remember running a couple of calls with you...but I couldn't remeber what they were....was one of them a full blown dog mauling? After the years, they all run together and I can hardly remember what calls I ran LAST SHIFT, let alone four years ago. Must be getting old. I do remember one run we did on an elderly lady with DKA, though.
