even though the weather for friday looks like the shiatz, ther eweather for saturday is currently looking cooperative for a quarries session. FYI, strongmadsends, Jjeff... nurocks and I talked about it a little while ago. if the prediction is still calling for sun I'm there...probably around the same time as last weekend, 9am.

hello everybody, My name's Ben and I'm just starting to break into the scene for NH and Mass. I've been climbing for about two years, and seriously training for about a year now. i go to school in New York (RIT) but live in southern NH for the summers. I'm interested in getting to know people here, and maybe meet some people to go climbing with over the summer months. any thoughts, info, tips, advice, places to meet other climbers are appreciated. So, thanks everybody, and once again, hello! -Ben

I warned Ben about this motley crew, but he decided to check out what you dirtbags are doing for fun! invited him to the Ruckus.

Hey folks, A few of us will be at QQ Sunday at about 1030am or 11am. If you don't see us at the prow then look for us at the pond (the oven). Greg

ehh.. did a few test runs around the block and decided to stay home.. i'll go out after work this week instead. i'm sure you understand from the scooter etc that low 40's feels much colder at speed than just hanging out. i'm over it :)

Hey all... Damn work took up all my time this week and didnt even get a chance to log in! Robb / Jeff - sorry I missed you yesterday - had to pick up the sister in law at logan. If the weather holds, I may try and hit Hammond Pond and run some solo TR laps in the pond area on tuesday or wednesday (or both). All are welcome. Also, heading out to the Gunks on friday for the weekend...anybody else going to be out there? -a

Jake --- congrats, nice wheels. BTW, it is the official vehicle of the Harpoon Alpine Climbing Team so you are in good company. They don't let me ride in it yet but they do supply me with beer every now and then!!! Nice day at CH today. Good boulder workout. I had the place to myself and was getting ready to leave and Steve A showed up. Good to see him looking very fit. He and son Mark are hitting RR next week. Did some laps on Jane. Or rather, Steve did laps and I did half-way up laps, I am definitely not in shape. The guy is one hell of a climber. He hasn't climbed since April and off the couch does laps on Jane! Beautiful footwork. Oh btw he is in his 60's! There is hope for me yet! Two local hardmen, Peter and Matt showed up after the 3rd time up Jane. With Steve in good hands I took off. They were going to lead and then TR laps on CroMag. Good to hear the Gunks talk. Can't get down next weekend but after that the first good weather report I'm there.

Jake I hear ya. my scoot has the advantage of powering electrically heated clithing. my mtb doesw not. so it kinda stays in the stairwell until like, late may. OH BTW< nice wheels. a nice utilitarian flair. can't go wrong with high functionality. Strongmad, the the gunks thing would be driving out on an early sat morning - like, dawn - and coming back late sunday. the friday reference is to my alternate fridays off, where the trip would be about the same, but from friday AM to sat evening.

A few of us hit QQ today, and had a good time out for our first day outside of 2008. We were over at C-wall all day. It was quite nice and warm. A bunch of people had ropes up (including us), so it was like gym climbing, only outside. It was fun, too, because we did all the easy lines, and then went back to do some harder variations of our own doing (taking certain holds off limits, etc). Bill - No way, Steve was doing Jane. The only climb he ever does is Cromag. Anyway, blog is up. I'm hoping to make weekly to every-10-day contributions from here on out. Even if I don't get out, I'm hoping to still write something about climbing each week. I hope you'll all continue to be fans. I don't have a link for the photos yet, but I'll also be providing one at the bottom of each post. Hope you all enjoyed your day! I certainly did.

Hey Robb - I meant that I'll be out in the gunks this weekend, leaving middayish friday from Framingham. My friend is taking the train up from NYC and I'm picking him up in Poughkeepsie ...camp friday and saturday night, and start heading back around 4ish. I may be able to do the 26th and 27th as well, if the wife let's me out of town on my birthday weekend (I guess it's ok since it's my bday, but I've learned that it doesnt always matter what I think).
