"Ships within Canada only." FAIL

travel AZ ---> MEC >$15

I have the BEAL Clic-Clac chalk bag that has some sorta spring steel in the top so it pops open and closed like those snappy bracelet things. Had to order it from freaking spain.. still less than 35 bucks :)

Edit to add: You can get that Rose Tattoo one from groovee for only 25 bux.

What Arc T has done here, and it's brilliant, really, is create a big run item with mass sourcing and chinese production, that sells for a custom-made price.

The real hook, here, is the plastic church key. Anyone could, of course, tack a lightweight one onto a chalkbag, but Arc T either sourced or (heaven help us) designed a dedicated chalkbag church key.

Frickin genius.

I gotta get one--by the weekend. Cool

I remember him offering to make those. I've got a RC bag but haven't gotten around to putting it together.

I made a chalkbag out of a Maker's Mark Bourbon faux leather bag a few years ago but it looked so nice I couldn't bear to put chalk in it.

Best chalk bag I've ever owned. Zipper top. I never have to deal with chalk spills again, and the bag is pretty big with a sizeable pocket on the back for keys, tape, etc.

whoa, I just realized that we got a couple of those very chalk bags for a wedding present last year. They're in the basement languishing away; I never even realized they had a bottle opener on them.

Still not as cool as the champagne that curt got us, though.

Better check the model: Arc T is thorough, and they have others at different (i.e., lower) price points.

That company has done some serious, thoughtful study of luxury branding. I'd really like to trash them a good deal more, but I also have to admit that they've fairly consistently offered some of the most elegant design in outdoor apparel.

Although I'm not terribly impressed by the chalk bag, since it's a recycled early '90s design with a cheap-ass plastic churchkey tacked on. Sort of a luxury version of a Berkeley art car.

Thanks for the catch. I can no longer keep up with outsourcing patterns, now that Indonesia, Vietnam and the Phiippines rotate in and out of the picture with the change of contractual seasons.

Now all we need is for the free-lance designer who first sketched the churchkey to step up and contribute some of the original CAD documents to the thread.

I think that the buckle that attaches the belt to the bag doubles as a bottle opener. I'm not sure, though. I'll get back on whether it works on a beer bottle later tonight after I'm done writing for the day; hehehe.

I got one and love it. I got big mitts so I like the big size. Verve had (has?) a really nice bag with a large opening also.

oh, btw, I wouldn't pay $35 for it either. eBay!!!
