Ok, now be reasonable, what's your ultimate goal to achieve in this incredible sport? Climb 5.12? Be a guide? Go pro? Make it up El Cap? Whatever... Matt

To do the Nose of El Cap. I have had 2 failed attempts before even going to the Valley due to partners bailing for dumb reasons. But when boot hits rock, whenever that actually happens, we will get to the top. Another goal is to climb at every different place I want to in the USA. TRADitionally yours, Cali Dirtbag

For me, climbing is a vehicle. My goal is complete harmony of mind, body, and soul. It's not what you climb, it is how you climb. D.

To be able to just go and do classic HARD trad routes. For example, drive to Yosemite with partner, climb Astroman first try, leave and say "that was sweet". Soon enough.

1) The Nose (ideally in a day) 2) Breach Wall on Kilimanjaro 3) Cerro Torre, summit via any route, alive. /me figures this could take a while, but I'm heading to Patagonia this February to try something less committing (Mocho, maybe); slowly creeping towards 5.11 cracks (to climb the Nose in a reasonable time), with a possible ropegun for September; and started figuring out the logistics for the Breach, since a girl at my work has climbed both Kenya and Kili. I couldn't care less about grades, but there are milestones I need to hit in order to Not Die on my dream climbs. Hell, let's be honest and add a few more: 4) Mordor Wall, winter ascent 5) Castle Rock Spire, ideally via an FA #4 should be taken care of next month. #5, hopefully I can find some suck^H^H^H^Hpartners this coming summer... It would seem like these dovetail with 1,2,3. [ This Message was edited by: tim on 2002-12-21 17:10 ]

To climb an underwater volcano without supplementary oxygen. Oh, and weights would have to be worn to cancel out the buoyant force of the water and maybe replicate the gravitational acceleration on Jupiter.

I just wanna climb for as long as I possibly can, even if I dont climb hard as I will in my prime, Hey! At least we be climbing eh? As far as "5.12, be a guide, go pro, make it up El Cap, whatever?" I'm not really that hardcore into ratings or anything, I just like to climb as hard as I can on any givin session, in the gym or outside. But, if I were to have a "dream or goal" highest red point, it would probably be 5.13c/d. Go Crank!!
