Friday, got up, climbed the climbs with a friend of a friend who turned out to be pretty rad, as well as honeybeccs and the pegbored champ. The rock was a bit damp, but it was a good day. The friend of a friend was named Camden, and I joked that sometimes one of my nicknames was "cam," for camhead, and he was like, "that's not really you," in disgust. It was embarrassing.

went to the hole yesterday, took a few runs on teh drive-by. still at two hangs; hopefully can push the first hang higher next weke end to get it down to one hang. spent a lot of the weke end werking.

just spent the last half hour reading supertopo and other sites trying to find info on the el cap accident from yesterday. double asiant is up on the nose, and I saw something about a recovery up on el cap. seems to have been rockfall up on Muir that sprayed as far as the nose. as far as I can tell the climber on Muir is the only victim. scary.

I had a random experience after the table bouldering, where a guy I didn't know asked me if my name was Lena, and whether I was Lena from rc.com, but wouldn't tell me his username, said he was "just reading" and internet was a crazy place.

I also had people ask me whether i had trained for it (the table bouldering). I laffed. But I should have directed then to Mr.Pegboard for training questions. Or maybe to that camhead guy.

Yes, cocaine, novocaine, lidocaine, benzocaine, cocaine... all have benzene ring and some other chemical structure commonalities. And cocaine is actually used as anesthetic still.

Spent the weekend that threatened to be abysmally-bad according to the weather forecast at the New.

Saturday really was pretty bad. with slimy wet seeping rock. But the key is to set your expectations really low. then you get pleasantly surprised by how good things actually are, compared to what they could have been. It turned out surprisingly nice. Aside fro ma few raindrops here and there, didn't really rain, and the rock got drier and drier.

Rendezvous was fun. Chossmarmots talked me into signing up for table bouldering, and in a fit of insanity, I agreed. I now have humongous bruises on both arms to prove that i can crawl over table every which way. And I haven't even been drunk when I agreed to this!

I wasn't around when that happened. But this time it was a table that was specifically built for the purpose.

On the way home, we came up with an idea for the Enormocast drinking game. Pretty simple. Every time he mentions Rifle, the Creek, or the Black, take a drink.

Somehow I do not think that hangboreding really would translate all that well to table bouldering. We all know that Lena crushed it simply because she was short, though.
