I've met a pretty large number of rc.commers at both the SLC meeting and Flagstaff meeting and I have to say 99.9% of them were some of the best people I've ever met, I still keep in touch with quite a few and we try to meet up anytime we can..... woodsE

Take a gander at the thread in Trip Reports about the recent JTree gathering. So far I haven't met a bad RC.commer while climbing. On the site we can get a bit testy, but it's different outside.

From my experince you have to watch out for i.karen and rrradam. They are both pushers or fine coffee and Bop It. So far I have not met anyone on the site that was bad. I have a semi regular partner that I met on here. To bad hes a bit touched and like to ice climb.

Some of the best experiences of my life have been with rc.commers. SLC gathering, AZ gathering, and Smith Rock Gathering were nothing short of fantastic. My road trips have all included climbing with RC'rs. My bigger adventures have been with RC'rs. I have friends all over the country from RC. I haven't met an RC'r I havent liked. (sounds like a commercial, dont it?!?)

LIke everything, there's folks I'll get along with and those I don't. I've usually climbed with people who've sparked my interest (or not . . . like Addroids, and how we play phone tag for the heck of it, but don't actually climb), or have really put an effort out to hang out with me, or both. I've climbed with a lot of people from this site, some because of the site, some just randomly joined, too . . . and some I mesh with, some I don't . . . lah ti dah.

Hi Epic, My advice is...... go ahead and get roped in. Everyone I've met from this site are GREAT people. rockclimbing.com is about lifting each other up..... not flaming or knocking the next person down, unlike other sites. Stick around, and welcome aboard. Cheers, Ammon

I had an incredible time climbing with rrradam and the other So-Cal people last summer. Everyone that I've met from the site has been completely cool. Thanks to everyone that I met from the site for one last good summer before I moved out here to Chicago were, at least for now, it is WAY to cold to get out on the rock.

I think that quote of mine way predates even me, and that's saying a lot! Does it perhaps originate with "Base-ah-ball..." RC.com is ETS! You can click here to read my thank you note to everyone who helped me in Yosemite in May, and if that weren't enough, you can read my thank you note for September! "Greater love hath none than this, that he pick up a pig for his friend."

passthepitonspete I can tell you definitively, your quote is a SNL Weekend Update sketch from about 1978. Original cast member Garret Morris as a Dominican baseball player. "Base-a-ball been a bery bery good to me." Gawd I need to get out doors. MIke

So far positive experiences, and I have been on here since 2001. People always offer good beta for the most part. Climberchic,Burren, ebelay, etc. have welcomed me to climb with them in AZ in a couple weeks. I thought that was pretty nice of them.

I think it's about 97% positive... I've now met and/or climbed with over 170 users of this site, many of whom are now some of my closest friends. I can only think of 4 that I have a serious problem with, and it would appear that users who have met these same people have the same problems with them. NO NAMES !!!
