My question is how long you have been climbing for(me is for about a year) and when did you start climbing(i started at 13, i'm now 14)....

4 years ago (on ice) at 24: Rock last year at 27: I should've started A LOT sooner .... But never met anyone else into it until then.

I started climbing at about 14, i'm now 21. WOW 7 wasted years! Wasted because of climbing? ... NO... Wasted because of not climbing enough!!! I can barely sport .10a and trad around 5.7-5.8 Chosing to go to a university that's over an hour drive from any decent crag didn't help the situation either... ah well! I'll just climb hard when i can... I suggest you do the same!

I've been climbing for almost 1.5 years. Started when Iwas 42! Yikes!
Can't decide which I prefer, the gunks or cathedral ledge. I'll have to
go to yosemite soon and be forever spoiled!

climbed a little bit each year since I was bout 12 or thirteen -- like one or two days of top-roping each summer.
started going the gym regularly in 1999. Went on a NOLS semester in spring of 2000 and got to do a twenty-day camp at Red Rocks. I'd say that's what got me climbing seriously. since then I've tried to climb as much as possible, which, unfortunatly, hasnt been that much. I usually go to the gym about once a week and try to make it up to the gunks as much as I can - about once a month, shooting for twice a month.
I want to open a climbing gym in Brooklyn. New York City could really use a good climbing gym.

Started when I was 8...I'm 24. Didn't climb consistently until a couple of years ago though. Now I can't stop, unless I get hurt (which seems to happen more than I would like).

Started climbing (top rope) pretty regularly about 3 years ago when I turned 40. Started leading some sport about a year ago. Just starting to lead trad. Can't stop.

I started top-roping around 1969 or 1970, winter backcountry travel in 1971, and started lead climbing around 1972. Climbed Mt. Rainier in 1973, Snake Dike on Half Dome in 1978, Grand Teton and East Buttress of El Capitan in 1979, NW Face Half Dome in 1980, Salathe Wall in 1982, Nose in 1984, and haven't looked back since.

I started climbing in 1991 when I was 18. I quickly dropped everything else I was into, like skateboarding, bike racing, and "getting ahead in life". I moved to Tahoe and climbed all the time (You can climb in winter in cave rock if you bring a camp stove to warm your hands). For some stupid reason I decided to go back to school when I was 24 and here I am, career job, two mortgages, married with a kid on the way, a dog. I guess it isn't so bad, but man I really miss getting up and deciding where I want to go climb for the next day, week, month. Well at least now I know every obscure little chunk of stone in Sonoma County.

I started climbing when I was 14, I'm now 15 almost 16. Used to be a juvinille dellequent, you know, drugs, crime all that bad stuff. Got sent to a group home in S. Lake Tahoe and have been climbing ever scince. goin' back home to Bishop on the 14th.

Around 1966, first climb in RMNP was in 1968. Still climbing hard as I can. I must confess I went to Rifle last week for the first time and got spanked :? Oh well I'll just keep trying! Can't help myself. :lol:

You figure it out--it'll be fun. Two years ago, I had been climbing for half of my life. Fifteen years ago, I had been climbing for one year less than one third of my life.
1) How long have I been climbing?
2) How old am I now?
3) What year did I start climbing?
Of course, when you get number (1) number (3) is a give away.
