I usually listen to Death Cab for Cutie, Sigur Ros, The Hives, or The Strokes. The Hives gets me pumped up while DCFC and Sigur Ros mellow me out. Good times

Driving to the crag, climbing indoors, talking about climbing, thinking about climbing, Led Zeppelin is in the background. Live, studio, live studio (yeah its there), you just gotta listen. Geez it feels like I should be at a Zeppelin forum instead... But still, don't tell me you haven't busted the Led out!

most music I listen to is relevent to the mood coming into the day. For me it ranges anything from Iron Maiden's "the prisoner" to to Mos Def. Latley I have been aid soloing to Modest Mouse and Built to Spill, it just fits the mood of being alone. If I am relaxing at a bivi or at camp I love listening to Townes Van Zandt..

We all got holes to fill.Them holes are all that's real
Some fall on you like a storm
Sometimes you dig your own
But choice is yours to make
And time is yours to take
Some dive into the sea
Some toil upon the stone
To live is to fly
Low and high,
So shake the dust off of your wings
And the sleep out of your eyes

His album "Road Songs" is good stuff for road trips.

As far as getting mentally connected with a climb I either listen to the surroundings of the natural environment at the moment or use visualization techniques and listen to Tabla Beat Science, a really good mix of traditional Hindu music with turntablism, and drum and bass.

happ listening and climbing.
