Is anyone familiar with the sculpture right beside the potomac river in D.C. that has just parts of a body sticking out. I think it had a leg coming out bending at knee, then back into ground, a arm reaching out, the head, and another limp. This thing is entirely aluminum. And when I was in the 8th grade couple years ago I scaled to the top of the knee while it was pouring down rain. I even have a pic. If I could figure out how to put one on my profile I would use it. also at my school there are lockers(believe it or not) and I like sticking my foot on the combination dial and using an underclinb on the vent strips near the top. \ I cant wait to go to RRG so I can climb some chairs @ miguels pizza. Oh yeah, I just remembered. this is not weird or strange but it was still pretty fun. we were doing an eggdrop contest(by the way I wone) and we had to climb up the bleachers before they were folded out. I'm short right? so the teacher says, "can ya get up there josh?" and I was like, " I can climb a 5.10 without working out for over 2 months. Well I guess it was over their heads cause they laughed at me. either that or they all onsight some .13's.

Here i was thinking that i was odd. in my school we have a wall covered in rock climbing handles. Its completly horizontal and made only for tall people i beleive. i'm only five ft two and i can't reach half of the handles. so instead of using them i used the cracks in the bricks to climb and reached thr roof. unfortunately it was during the spring fair at the school, and all the parents were freaking out. Its only ten or fifteen feet high.

on one wierd occasion, i was in the main building of Place des Arts (sp?) in Montreal. The walls inside are nicely made of stone and would make a good climb. i was just putting my hand on them and figuring out how i would hold them if i were to climb it, you knwo, just for practice. well a guy who was on this guided tour with me asked me "Why do you keep on FEELING the walls man?" and i instinctively said, "For practice" with a prefectly strait face. they gave me a funny look and moved away, then about 10 minutes later i reliezed why. OOPS!

I used to work the evening shift (4pm-12am) at a software company years ago. My team and I would go bonkers after Wendy's closed at 11pm (back in the day). So, we used to hang outside the company's main entrance and take in the night air. One night we were standing outside talking about climbing. We got so into it that I scaled the side of the building's brick wall. I didn't go too far up, but it was certainly the weirdest place I've climbed. The strangest thing I have ever climbed was the lockers at school. I had to get to the top of it for a picture, so I went on and climbed it. Another thing that I climbed was the window sill at school. Each room has a big window with a bar right in the middle of it, so I climbed it. I did it to show people that I could actually climb. I hope to be writing about more weird things that I have climbed. It will only take time before I think of one....

In the auditorium of my old high school, there were these little pegs that came out on the wall. one day i passed by and thought that why not and started to climb. i got all the way up to the top and looked down and the principle was standing there with his arms crossed looking dead at me. i got about a week of in school suspension for the stunt but it was worth it. i am the only person to ever do that.

There is this chinese restraunt in my town with a 16' statue of Budha in the front of it. I climbed to the top of that. And in Wyoming, there is this giant statue of Lincoln... I climbed to his head, and have a pic of me with half my head up his nose somewhere.

In line for "Dueling Dragons" at Islands of Adventure in Orlando Florida. You end up weaving in a maze of tunnels in line for this roller coaster. I got bored waiting so my brother and I took turns spotting each other as we climbed. We had quite a crowd (luckily no security) and it was a ton of fun. Hey in Orlando you take what you get. I also climbed the Water Tower at the Blues Club at Downtown Disney.

I think that the wierdest thing that I've ever climbed on is the side of my church. It's a 50 ft climb but was pretty awesome in the end. Now i just need to climb some corporate buildings.

The wierdest thing i ever climbed would have to be my school. There is a little route i do up side of the gym (3 stories). Its pretty easy, the first move is kinda cool. V1 maybe, then the rest is less than V0. I wanna lead up this cell phone tower some time soon, cuz that would kick ass, it might even be multi pitch. 5.9? Well, I almost got busted climbing the gym after school. The cop pulled over on the road looked at me and then turned around. So i ran and ran Lesson learned, Not in day light [ This Message was edited by: fingerjam on 2002-06-01 08:45 ]
