FOOoooooooooO!!!! yo boyEEEE Glad you're out sorry to hear about the pain, couple weeks it;'ll be a dim memory hopefully...looking forward to gittin' up witch'a! Shane and I went to CR this eveing and climbed on the wet and slimy rock, along with that dude Ken who I seem to keep referring to as Kevin and a coupel guys from newenglandbouldering.com... Shane kicked our ass, I fell off my overcling Send Money variation 4-5 times because of the wet holds, and so did ken, and then Shane cruised right up first try... I also tried techno dweeb a couple times, made it to the first two crimps and peeled, and then shane got on the route for the first time and made it right up to the crimps and the footholds beyond, LOL! handed me my ass yep, all the while saying "This is really beyond my ability" Sure shane, whatever ;-) dunno what I'm climbing this weekend, got invited out to Crow, but I dunno if that's gonna be doable now, or if the weather is gonna cooperate.

Hey Mike, Glad to hear you made it through ok. The recovery of such injuries are brutal, I know I have similar scars on my right hand.. Try not to get bummed, and stay out of the house as much as possible.. Just think, when this is all said and done, some insurance dweb will come out, measure the scars, loss of function and all that, and three weeks later you'll get a "settlement check" for 15-20,000 $$$$$ I did, though I only got 15,000. It covered all my expenses while recovering. Glad to hear you're alright, hang in there man.

Oi! went to Tippling Rock in Sudbury today with G-freind Suzen, named a couple routes and thru a rope over the crag for the first time. we both climbed a nice 5.4-5.5 that Sue named "Jaw Drop" and I freed the bottom half of a route (more like a 12 foot boulder problem that I call "How Did I Do This Last Time?" (5.7-ish?) there's a really interesting route next to Jaw Drop that looks like it might be .8-.9 but I'll have to figure it out and send it a couple times to really be able to tell. I won't be surprised if there' info on this rock in the new BR guide, but if not, I'll put it up here. Boyscout troops climb there, it's on Sudbury conservation land to the south of the nobscott BS reservation, and the town has marked the trailhead plainly for anyone to see, with a big sign on rte 20. unfortunately there's really no parking access, so the place mostly only sees local hikers and joggers onthe trails. usually the only chalk I see there is mine, and now Suzen's ;-) it was a fun afternoon, though, she did alright on the grigri, not even cratering me once. ;-) see you guys (some of ya) at CR this week...tuesday night?

Hi guys, My boyfriend an I are looking to learn some top roping. We have our shoes/harnesses but no rope, and are mere beginners. Is there something going on this week or next week-end that we could join in order to receive advice and share a rope for some easier climbs? We live and work in Boston, so during the week we could make it after 5 pm, not too far from Boston itself, more flexibility during the w-end. We are in our early 20s, me Ukrainian and Pascal French, both just graduated from Northeastern University, doing some finance at our first jobs. We'd appreciate help to start our new life as climbers :) ASAP! Thanks, Julia

Hey Julia! I just answered your PM to me ;-) I forgot to ask what's your transportation situation: car? or Public trans? As I said, you're welcome to join me anytime. WideG wanna try for the quarries after work wednesday, weather permitting? If the weather permits, I'll be at CR tuesday, though if the rock is really wet like last time I may bail on it. Shane are you in?

Hey, yes we've got a car and the flexibility that comes along although my driving is not much better than my climbing :D QQ sounds good for wednesday, we could be there by 5 30 - 6 pm. We'll see concerning CR tomorrow, maybe we could make it too by 6. Keep us updated! ps: nice joining the community that quickly - it makes time at work fly by, checking all the while what's going on on the forum ;-)

Wed sounds awesome. Just be warned that is the weekly AMC night so it's bound to be busy. I'll check with my social secretary just to be sure.

Chad, up to you. I was just going to see if you wanted to boulder at QQ on wed. Obviously everyone beat me to it, lol. We could do HP or QQ on wed. It's my only day to climb this week. I'll leave it up to you as I'm good either way. Let me know. I'm done work at 6pm this week, so I can be either place by 6:30 at the latest. TD

Setup where ever your little ole heart desires. I've got my rope and that 5.8 corner arete line is calling my name. Either that or Layback since I had that fairly wired but haven't climbed in a month. If either are available.

Kewl. uasunflower and her boyfriend will likely be joining us there wed, the 5.4 to the right of layback would be choice for them I think.

Cool. That crimpy walkup variation you guys worked last time makes it a good enough workout. Looks like LAyback and that 5.4 are both supposed to end the same place, Right of where we take Layback, left of where we've been going on the other. Good place to set if it's open

Yeah, that's the one. Not that I could tell you because i took the decidedly easy 5.4 direct route but Robb and (forgot his name) worked this crimpy traverse on the lower section and a variation up the face instead of the edge of the HARV flake that they seemed to think was more in the 5.7-5.8 territory.

Interesting. I'd still like to see someone go straight up off the top of the flake. Now that would be impressive climbing.

TD I know where ya mean, it's wicked thin right up the top of the HARV flake. I liked that route, it was fun. hopefully we'll get a rope on there wednesday.
