You can add me to the SoCal "B" (duffer) list Assuming I get back in town in time, I'm going to try to make the adopt-a-crag at Stoney Point as well. I'm planning on playing hooky one day next week and heading out to Tahquitz. If anyone else is interested in ditching work (school, jury duty, etc.) for some casual multi-pitch, drop me a note. -jjf

Hi SoCal group. I was wondering if anyone is welcome to come out and climb with your group? I don't have a partner but I'll trade belay for belay. Your messages said that you'd be up in Big Bear on Saterday. Maybe I'll see you there. How will I know it's the SoCal group?

I'd like to meet up on Saturday too. I can meet rrradam at the pullout before Big Bear Lake Dam. To get there do I just head up the 18? Adam let me know if you are still going to be there at 9. Its all sport climbing up there right?

Sounds like you all are going to have a blast out there! Wish I could make it, but I'm staying local and sticking with Malibu. Some unfinished business is waiting. See you at the Ghetto if anyone is going over there....

Haven't had the chance to climb with this group yet and maybe Sat will be the day. In looking over the directions in the routes database it recommends a high clearance vehicle. Is it absolutely necessary or will my Jetta be able to make it? Anyone coming from SD? maurice

Wow....a real mini-gathering!!! If you don't know how to get there it is probably best to meet at the pullout (see previous posts). It will save you some time and frustration.

mreardon... We gotta climb together. Gotta have a high clearance vehicle, Jetta will not make it. Not even most SUVs will make it. Meet me at the pull out at 9AM. Damn... Looks like I should have put this in the Events Forum, as there are many coming, including some climbers from my gym. ~Adam

Adam, Ask Chris about the driving approach via Orbit Rock. It is ALOT more friendly on low clearance vehicles than the Wilbur Tombstone approach. I used to drive my wife's Geo Storm (yes I know, don't laugh ) out via Orbit Rock. Its a little further hike to the main area, but there are some good routes around Orbit Rock and other formations like Road Crew that are worth getting on! Rough

Orbit and Parking Lot Rock approaches are good but you don't get to squeeze between the boulders like the Wilbur's entrance. That's the best part!
