just thought I'd add to this thread some personal experience from several years ago.... I ordered a ledge andd fly from Fish, gave him a set date that I was leaving on a roadtrip. I think I placed the order perhaps five months in advance. Came down to my departure time, I emailed him, he emailed back, telling me essentially to "chill out." I cancelled the order. My credit card was never billed. that is all.

Could you please direct me to your website so I can buy something and experience first hand the quality of your company? Thanks I confess I have trouble telling when you're serious. Russ has a link to his site in his signature, but here it is again: http://www.fishproducts.com/. From what I hear it's good stuff, and not all wall-related.

ok jay. Maybe 'dissent' wasn't the best word choice on my part. But whatever! I don't really need to rehash all those issues up here again. I actually thought dingus's story about the company that got purchased pretty much sums up how I feel about this site these days. but to attempt to 'shame' someone for speaking their mind is like, super-lame. I wasn't just thinking of you in this thread, reno's been running that angle for a while now. Implying we should all be really really grateful, shaming us for aruging in a thread about dead people that really wasn't about dead people, etc. It's galling when someone tries to assume some sort of moral authority, when you don't think they have it. Does that remind you of anything?

thomasribiere wrote: what is a fly, climbing speaking??? It's the first time I hear that. Is this aid climbing related? A fly is used on a portaledge when you expect bad weather. A portaledge (from the rc.com dictionary) is a "portable and colapsable ledge used for sleeping on a big wall or multi-pitch climb requiring more than one day to complete." It's like a rainfly for a tent, only specially designed for a ledge.

Does that remind you of anything? The time our puddle jumper crashed in Antarctica you tried to eat that baby? I full on had to call you babymuncher to get you to stop. It worked though, didn't it. We ate the old lady, instead. She was little gamey, but that salt you dug out of the luggage sure did the trick.

Sure as hell. All this "Can't ya just argue with some respect for each other?" is really a subliminal "You Will Conform" message. Don't mind that flickering of your computer screen.... and there really isn't any low-volume whistle coming from the speakers, either. Here's the funny thing: YOU are free to speak your mind, voice an opinion, criticize anyone, and then you claim you're exercising your rights. When I try to speak my mind, voice my opinion, or criticize anyone, you claim I'm a puppet for the man. That's some logic, pal.

Ok, that was a lie. I guess you're not missing anything now that Mowz doesn't have the girls in his sig anymore.

You know...I get that a lot. We were out doing a new route and my buddy found a way around an all points throw for the last move on a route (he unearthed a pocket). I said: "HRMPFHHFOPHF $%&*$ Dang it, I'm gonna have to come out and fill in that pocket!" and then I walked away. A few minutes later, the group asked me if I was serious......."OF COURSE NOT!!!!"
