I'm planning a trip with some friends up to the North Conway area for a week either this spring or fall but I've been reading about the area being closed once a year for falcon mating. Can anyone give me a ball park idea about when this is usually happening? obviously no one knows exactly when it will happen but if there is a trend that its usually in may or something like that would be super helpful. Thanks

Usually Spring to mid Summer, I think, however it is only a limited section of Cathedral that is effected, and generally on the less popular routes. There is plenty of climbing to be had on neighboring routes and cliffs when the ban is in effect. The Main Wall at Rumney also has a similar ban.

well it's not the whole area. A small section of Cathedral and a few of the smaller cliffs off the Kanc get close but there is still a large amount to climb this was april last year "The peregrines are nesting between Repentance and Remission at the northern end of Cathedral Ledge. Climbs to the right of Cathedral Roof and to the left of Dierdre are temporarily closed." these areas have some sort of at least partial closure "Cathedral Ledge, Bartlett, NH (see above) Frankenstein, Harts Loc., NH Holts Ledge, Lyme, NH Owls Head, Benton, NH Painted Walls, Albany, NH Rattlesnake Mtn., Rumney, NH (summit and asylum crags) Square Ledge, Albany, NH Sugarloaf Mtn., Benton, NH Eaglet, Franconia notch, NH

Thanks for the serious responces, I wanted to post a "They play tonight, just relax and find out ther result", but I would have felt bad doing so without having some real advice first. If I include the obligitory pic, does this go to the campground?
