Hey, could any of you tell me a bit about Castle Rock? I climb Stoney Point... up to 5.10abc's. I'll also have a mid level climber (my wife) who can do 5.9's and maybe pull a 5.10. My other climbing partner is on same level as me. I'm looking for some good TR routes... natural anchors or bolts. Any suggestions? Websites? Cheap guide books? Thanks!

Castle Rock is covered in Bay Area Rock and Rock Climbing the SF Bay Area--two general guide books. Also there is a guide to climbing along skyline blvd, but I don't have that one. I climbed at Summit Rock and Indian Rock this last weekend and there's plenty there for a day trip...

Seeing as you're from Southern California I'm assuming you mean the local Castle Rock (in the San Bernardino Mountains) not the one located in the Bay Area of Central California. If that's the case check here for info - http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/listArea.php?AreaID=448 There are a number of high quality routes there 5.10 and under, most of which can easily be top-roped as well as lead depending upon your inclination.

Please read the entire Castle Rock area description and details - all your questions should be answered there.
