La Casa Pollo has been shut down. The word is the state closed it because he didn't have insurance. I have heard some talk about him reopening as a private club with higher prices and still no insurance or a functional bathroom. any info would be helpful

In reply to: no insurance or a functional bathroom. Somone is operating a climbing gym and they have no insurance and no working bathroom? That seems crazy. If those details are true then it's probably good that it got shut down. Bryan PS - But in other news....Little Rock now has it's own climbing gymhttp://www.littlerockclimbingcenter. It opened while I was on vacation so I haven't been there yet but it's got to be better than nothing.

I never thought that it was a big deal. I heard that it was actually something else but I would rather not gossip seeing how I do not know for sure. Anyway, the place was unique. I am sure that it will be back.

While I do agree there are certain "issues" that needed to be addressed at La Casa it was a great place for a beginner to go and learn about climbing. Plus Richard always gave sweet deals on climbing gear that he sold. Due to real rock being so close I had not frequented the gym like I use to. I know the owner has put a lot of time and energy building it up so I hope he can get things up and going again because climbing is his passion. best of luck Richard!!!!! Brandon J.

Wow, I didn't even hear abou that until now. I know Richard wasn't the only one to put a buttload of time in there. A lot of the local climbing community helped out as well. As you said, best of luck.
