New chalk bag, two belay devices, a couple books (Fall of the Phantom Lord, White Mountain guide, New England guide) and a camel pak. The last one isn't really climbing related but I plan on using it for the approach. Mr. Mons

My family bought me a HUGE set of Franklin holds for my basement woodie - one of the big sets! That was quite nice, but what really bowled me over is that they wheeled the heavy box out on a little yellow wagon... the yellow wagon I played with as a toddler that they had somehow kept all these years stashed somewhere in their basement. They restored and repainted it, even machining a new hubcap for one of the wheels (probably lost in the mid-70's in either France or West Virginia). With any luck, I'll be pulling my future kids around in it and closing one eye when they ride it down the driveway "surfboard style" just like I did. What a great Christmas present!

$100 at REI Chalk Slings, daisy chain Set of Hexes and Lots of conversations with relatives like this.... Them: "You're going to do WHAT with that?!" Me: "No, see, I know it just looks like a piece of metal but you see this strength rating, when properly placed it--" Them: "....." (look of pure terror)
